Which is kind of confusing when combined with the impression that a lot of people have about SIG using customers as beta-testers to work out the bugs of some newly released products (ie, P320, P290, etc.).

First I have no news just questions, sorry.

Has anyone been able to confirm that the target will be production legal?

I'm also wondering if there will be exchange kits for them.

It would be nice to be able to get one in 9 to use in production but have the option to get a 40 exchange kit to use in Limited Major if you wanted.

I'm still (im)patiently waiting to get my hands on one of these.

I'm not sure if this video has been posted or not. According to the rep in the video, the P320 Target was designed by Bruce at Grayguns and there will likely be a full Target exchange kit for current P320 owners. Very exciting indeed.
Given the obvious changes in the trigger anyone know how the exchange kit will work with the existing FCU?

The only thing I can think of is either you go out and buy the whole gun or it's an actual x-change kit with an extra trigger to swap out.

This is being designed as a factory ready Production race gun.
The goal is to make Production legal and submit it to DNROI for inspection.

Obviously there have also been FCU changes, but those have been minor and can be updated by the user (slide catch lever, new trigger, etc).
I read months ago somewhere that the Target FCU would not be interchangeable with the standard P320. Something about redesigning the sear engagement and moving the striker to obtain that sweet trigger pull. But until they actually release the thing, who knows?

That may have changed, but we will have to wait and see.

I heard that too on the webs and if true - that's the stupidest thing... The whole point of the p320 is its modularity. So IMHO to have a flavor that can't swap parts with other flavors is down right idiocy. I'd love to sit in a marketing meeting and hear them business speak justify the non-interchange of components when that's been the whole story on this model...

If this rumor is the case they should just call it the p321 or something stoopid like that.

Like Alma said - time will tell when it's finally released...
