Success replaced E2 grip with retro 2 grip panels!

Update to my original post: New production grip panels worked like a champ on my P229, replacing the stock, e2 grip.

However, in removing the e2 grip I accidentally disconnected the trigger bar spring from the trigger bar. And once I figured out where it went to on the trigger bar (small lower notch on the t-bar), I was back in business. Everything fit perfect with no surprises. Except where the grips and grip screws (all Sig Sauer parts) where made: right grip panel Germany, left panel and one screw Israel, and the remaining three screws USA.

I have nothing against the e2 grip - but for me I just prefer the look and feel of the old school grip panels. Thank again to everyone for their input,

powerstroke.

powerstroke, I guess that's the reason there are so many choices. We are not all built the same, and have different opinions on what is right for us.

Congratulations on getting what you needed, even though it appears to have been an INTERNATIONAL effort!

I love the classic 2 piece Sig Grips. Just enough traction, not too rough. Look great!

E2s were never my favorite. If they didn't turn WHITE everywhere your hand rubbed against them, I may have a different opinion. They do feel good. G10s are the best. But, still lean towards Classic grips.

G10s are great when holding gun one-handed. But when shooting 2-handed, I hardly notice any difference in grip texture.

Thanks. About the e2 grip, I too noticed a contact shadow or hand-print on the e2s, and even went as far as tried washing them - while I had them off - with Dawn dish-washing soap and a toothbrush, but it didn't really work. Anyway, their retired now.

I would have loved to installed the g10s, but the price right now wasn't in my reach. Maybe one day.
