Hello and great job,

P220 also has a .22 conversion kit.

It would also be nice to know what is the source of the conversion. For example the caliber exchange kits are Sig, what about the conversion barrels? Barstow?

thanks

Very cool chat easy to read looks good so far, I'm in the market for a p239 40 cal / 9mm. With this info I should be able to get the 40 and add a 9mm drop in and Mag? If I'm reading it right.

I have a 226 originally chambered in 40 cal. I bought stock sig replacement barrels from Top Gun Supply in 9mm and 357sig and the barrels all work fine in the gun. 9mm doesn't feed reliably in the sig 40/357 mags but my 40 cal mecgar mags will. It may have to do with the mag followers.

I also own a 2022 in 40 and did the same thing. The 9mm 2022 stock replacement barrel fits that gun perfectly however the sig 40 cal mags wont feed 9mm reliably. Any more than 10 9mm rounds and the rounds will bind in the mag.

You are reading it correctly! The 9mm SIG factory barrel will drop right in.

Confused

On the Top Gun Supply website it says the 9mm replacement barrel doesn't fit on .357 or .40 cal P239 slides.
So I'm confused. Can someone comment?

Sig P239 Replacement Barrel - 9mm - Top Gun Supply
Welcome to SIG Talk!

I have a P239 originally chambered in 40 S&W. Additional purchases of a barrel in 357 SIG and 9mm accompany this handgun. All three barrels work fine in the handgun. The breech end of the 9mm barrel is a little thinner to accommodate the narrow breech face of the 9mm slide. I believe this is the difference they are pointing to. I find, in spite of this, the 9mm barrel locks up just fine in the 40 S&W slide, the barrel hood secures it quite well in the slide.

I have also had good luck feeding the 9mm rounds from 40 S&W and 357 SIG magazines. I would, however, recommend using the appropriate magazines should the handgun be used for defensive purposes.

Enjoy your P239!

Thanks!

I appreciate the quick and informative reply. Was double checking before going on a barrel buying frenzy. I've got the bug! Shopping for a P226 9mm Legacy SRT now

I love this forum! There's a wealth of information here. Now I'm REALLY looking forward to getting my P229R DAK in .40. It arrived at my FFL but it will be Saturday before I'm able to pick it up. I think there may be a barrel or two in my future!

I would not recommend using the SIG 9mm barrel in a 40/357 slide of either a P226 or P229. The barrel OD of the 9mm is smaller and won't ride properly through the opening in the end of the slide. The aftermarket conversion barrels are fabricated with larger OD's to address this concern. On the P239, however, the OD size is the same on all three SIG factory barrels, 9mm, 40 S&W and 357 SIG, hence the recommendations in the chart as developed.

I've been hoping to find a 9mm conversion barrel (40 s&w to 9mm) for the sig 2022 but they are no longer made. Anyone know of a place to find one?

You can put a WTB in the classifieds here, and also Armslist.
Fire dragon, and Storm Lake also make barrels. Did you check them?

There were quite a few made. Keep checking Gunbroker and Guns America as well as wide open on Armslist parts.
I found a local guy selling a 220 and he had a Bar-sto 400 corbon. I hit him up and bought the barrel only. Really great price and a perfect barrel.
