Legion Knives

Anyone with a legion knives that would care to give a review?

I have misplaced my SpyderCo Manix 2 and have been looking for it for a few weeks now. If I can't find it, I've thought about looking into the QuarterMaster Roper Flipper.

Any reviews on it that anyone has been able to find and/or can share from personal experience?

There are plenty of reviews of the non-Legion labelled versions of this knife. A Google search for Quartermaster Mr Roper XLS will bring up a few. From what I've seen, there are better options out there in that price range.

It has to do something pretty special for $200.

?
Personally, that's why I hate to spend a lot on a knife.

It depends on which one you want. When you go to the Legion store, look for the name below the knife's name i.e. "by Rick Hinderer", 'by Daniel Winkler"

Google those names and you will get lots of information about them and their products. The prices seem high but if you look at what they charge for their non-Legion logo'd knives you will see they are comparable.

If price and quality is an issue for your knife selection, you can't go wrong with a Kershaw Blur 1670.

Agreed, and I would add sunglasses. I'm not judging anyone who spends the money on either one. But for my uses, and my ability to lose them, I'm not spending a fortune.

I know, HK & Beretta seem having cheaper branded knifes selections, Sig is just too much ...

Funny, my knife of 5 years, just broke. I am in the market for a new work related knife, but as others have stated. I keep the price point down when it comes to an item that is going to get more then it's fair share of use and abuse.

When that happened to me I bought another spyderco. Lost one in the woods one time, and thought about something more expensive. Then, I thought I would be passed if I lost something like a 250 dollar knife. AND, I seriously think my spyderco's are tremendous blades for the money.

The Legion knives look pretty sweet. Yeah, they're pretty darn expensive, and I can't say anything about that Winkler fixed blade because I've never held one before, but I played around with a friends Hinderer the other day and oh man. The lock up on the Hinderer XM knives is rock solid. They open smooth as silk, lock solid, look friggen' sweet, and are razor sharp. I have a ZT 0303 that I carry at work and really like it but I'm really considering ordering that Hinderer after having seen one. The flipper on the Hinderer isn't assisted like on a ZT knife so you gotta hold it tilted more downward and push the flipper the right way but it's easy to get used to. But yeah, they're really pricy but if you do get one you'll have a quality product so it's all good. But if you just want a solid knife then there's tons of great stuff out there. My dad carries a ZT0350 and that thing is sweet, the Spyderco Military is my favorite Spyder out there and they're darn good. Heck, a lot of Spyderco knives are great. The Military, Manix, Delica, Sage, pretty much most of the catalog will serve anyone well. Kershaw makes pretty cool stuff, Quartermaster stuff is really good but on the Ropers they're kinda hard to flip open with one hand. There's tons of great knives out there that could serve you just as good as any of the Legion blades for less money. If you get one of them though you're getting a really cool exclusive item kinda like the pistols.

I bought the Hogue version. It is very solid. Hogue shows a web price of $240 for the 3-3/4" version, so the Sig price is relatively inexpensive.

Not so long ago several posts lamented that there were no more Sig knives for sale. Now people **** and moan over a few bucks.

I got one but used my 20% off coupon. Not bad for $160.

I am so-so on the knife. Nice knife that carries well for its size. balanced with good steel. Only gripe is the plastic pommel makes it feel a bit cheap.
