Sent my SIG out today for work

Well today I sent my Sig P226 Elite SAO out to The Sig Armorer. I really liked the elite SAO but once I got the Legion SAO I knew I wanted a flat trigger in my first Sig. This is what I asked Robert to do and what could be done.

To switch the the flat trigger it would need:

Legion flat trigger
Legion trigger bar
Legion safety lever

I asked for a set of the legion thumb safeties because I believe they changed the angles on them to make engagement easier. Unfortunately Robert said they are different and wouldn't fit. Which is a shame.

Machine the new left side thumb safety flat for possible idpa use since I'm left handed.

SAO action job with legion trigger. 3-3.25 lb trigger.

Tune the safety for a more positive click.

Now I impatiently wait for him to receive the pistol, wait for the parts from Sig, and for the work to be done.

Can't wait to get it back. I have an attachment to this gun since it was my first SIG.

I doubt I would do this, but I'm watching with interest?

Why not machine the right side safety, or are you left handed? Or half off each side? I don't shoot IDPA, but I know it is too wide to meet regs. Not questioning your decision, just wondering why?

I know nothing about any form of competition. But I find it interesting whenever I hear things like the P226 Elite SAO is too wide for some form of competition. The rules are curious to me.

My understanding is IDPA didn't want race guns with large mag wells, charging handles, etc... like you see on some of the open guns in IPSC.
