Just ordered a 9mm 1911 and the best part is . . . . .
As some may recall, I have asked about 9mm 1911's. Well, this morning I opened up the Sig website and the one that has captured my interest has finally been listed on their website. I printed off the page and made a run to my LGS and handed the page to the shop manager and said "order one of these for me, please". Order is placed and now the wait begins.
I had actually had intentions of getting prices on the SA loaded 9mm and the STI Trojan 9mm this weekend, fortunately the one I had been lusting for was more formally declared on the website.
I'm as excited a a kid in a candy store....I mean...... a man in a gun store. Hope nothing pops up that changes course because I just ordered these to adorn it with. I think they are sharp!
I'm not familiar with all the potential issues, as I am reletivly new in the world of 1911's, but I hear and read that the potential for functionality problems increases substantially when the barrel length is below 4". Not sure what is real and what is embelished. I still have quite a bit to learn in the 1911 arena.
The Nitron finished Ultra is a sharp looking pistol that I would not at all mind having but if I were to buy outright, I would probably lean toward the RCS.
I like the same Sig 1911's that You do Reliable... I don't know a whole lot about 1911's but all the ones I have saw all seem to look basically all the same to me except for the different hammers & triggers but my Para-Ordinance P-12 does have a compensated Bull Barrel that I haven't saw on others..
This is REALLY good news. I have actually been looking at 9mm 1911s myself. I dont care too much for the .45s since i have my Excellent 220, which i believe is one of the Best to have chambered in .45s. The way i see it, as 9mms are cheaper, i can have more fun with my Sig 1911, and not worry about whether i will have enough money to buy ammo for .45s.
Please keep us up to date with your Sig. Pictures + updates would be nice. Thanks!
So i called and visited my Dealer recently, and much to my disappointment, their so called "distributors" cant provide any info. When i contacted SIG, they stated that they already have orders in line and waiting for processing in line for the Sig 1911 9mm. Supposedly my Dealer can match/ and or beat any price in the country---so they say. I fear they wont even take orders for the 1911 until next year. I was planning on getting it for Christmas
