I'm sure it will be a while before we see the extended 14s, but I was hoping to get some extra 10s soon.
So I can load up extras the night before a range trip.

Yes. The full-size Nitron. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. Hopefully tomorrow!

Sure! I'll post some this weekend. If my health is up to it tomorrow, I plan on going and trying it out. I am so out of practice. I have to start breaking in some toys as well as practice.

I've been dealing with Para-USA on a feeding issue with my new Para-USA Black Ops 14.45 "kinda-1911" (14 rounds in the flush-fit mag) lately. A lot of people are having the problem with the ones that use the same barrel and I figured out what is happening, they are just trying to determine what they can do about it. The magazine isn't riding quite high enough and it requires exreme force to push down on those 14 rounds of .45ACP to raise it a fraction of an inch to put the top round where it needs to be to slide into the chamber.

So because of that, I haven't been shooting my Sigs lately and I don't have many opportunities to go to the range. Oh how I wish I could just go out the back door and shoot. Like Biden's momma.

While watching a "Nutnfancy" review on the P227 on YouTube, I saw where he used a P250 mag in the P227. It required the plastic base of the P250 mag to be ground down, took about 30 seconds, and it worked flawlessly.

Osage Guns posted a pic on another forum that I reposted here a week or two ago. The photo shows both mags are identical. Just like nutnfancy showed.

Took my new P227 full-size Nitron out to the range Friday. I always clean and lube my new guns before going to the range the first time.

Ran the following though it

Remington UMC 230gr FMJ, 21 rounds
Winchester White Box 230gr FMJ, 100 rnds

For a total of 121 rounds.
Ran absolutely flawlessly.

I wanted to run more through it but I was already in serious physical pain, had only about 4 hours of sleep Friday morning, and wanted to get some more rounds though my P229 SAS Gen2 .40S&W (its 2nd range trip). Along with chronic back pain, I had picked up a case of ammo the wrong way recently and gave myself severe tendonitis in the tendons controlling the two middile fingers of my right hand (I'm right handed).

I like to be able to load a number of magazines the night before going to the range so my hands and grip will be in best shape for practice and I won't have to reload as often at the range. However, given that I could not locate spare mags for my P227, I had to keep reloading the two that came with the gun. After loading and firing 121 rounds through the P227, and getting about half-way through my second break-in session with my P229 afterwards, I had to start using my left hand to staple targets because the tendonitis was hurting so bad in my right hand I couldn't squeeze the stapler. I had some issues with my P229 that I may discuss in another post.

I just recenly got back into shooting after a long hiatus due to health issues, work and personal problems, and most of my time since returning has been trying to work out issues with a Para-USA 14+1 .45ACP "1911". So transitioning to the long trigger stroke of this gun meant I had some fliers at the beginning. I guess my brain kept expecting that near instantaneous break on the 1911 trigger.

Accurate weapon as you might expect for a P-series .45ACP from Sig. Mine is the "227R-45-BSS" P227 Nitron with night sights. Sig P227

It has the short trigger but does not have the Short Reset Trigger (SRT). Aggrivates me that Sig is only going to put the SRT in the P227 SAS model. I plan to get that installed in my full-size P227 a.s.a.p.

I have included two photos of the P227. I haven't cleaned it since the range trip. So no detail shots or glamor shots with watches. I show the P227 sight-to-sight with my P220 Stainless Elite. I have replaced my Rosewood grip on my P220 Elite with Hogue's base rubber grip panels. This base grip from Hogue is about as thin a grip as it possible and still have any rubber on the backstrap. That, plus the short (thin) trigger combines to make the reach as easy as possible on a stock P220.

I have also included a photo pairing a P227 mag with a P220 mag. I used a rigid, plastic storage container to "level" the magizines' base pads to each other. This shows the difference in grip angle better than trying to see it in the grips themselves.

I would urge everyone that may dismiss the possibility of owning the P227 due to grip size to not be so hasty. The combination of the ergo style backstrap, the deeper relief area in the frontstrap just under the trigger guard and the short (thin) trigger provide a full-size .45ACP that feels increadible! Seriously, the trigger reach is better than it is on my P220. But that isn't al! I have a P226 9mm full-size with Crimson Trace grips. The trigger reach on the P227 is at least as good as the trigger reach on my P226 9mm with the Crimson Trace grips!!! So don't rule out the p227 assuming the grip is too big until you hold it. You will be surprised!

I only have one complaint and it is a complaint that I have with most of Sig's pistols. Only it seems more ridiculous in this case given that the P227 is a brand new model!!! That complaint is that Sig still did not manufacture the frame with a standard rail. It should have been manufactured with the NATO STANAG 4694 rail (compatible with U.S. Military Standard 1913 "true Picatinny" rail). Come on, Sig?!?!?!?! Get with the program! If you can see the benefit of it on your rifles, why can't you see the benefit of it on your pistols?!?!?!?

I am definitely looking forward to many years with this pistol!! Now if I can get some extra mags to make the range trip more fun!

No signs of any yet. I have not been able to get extra 10-founders yet.

I really wish they could have engineered a gun with flush fit 12 or 14 round mags like some brands of double stack "1911s".
