So it seems to be like a silkscreen-type of thing...

...kinda' like the go-faster stripes on this.....

Maybe just an eraser and lighter fluid.

Or...bring it to a tattoo removal place....

It does seem like that. I'll call Sig tomorrow to inquire.

That's the laser engraving. It's the way they used to do the serial numbers.

Kitjunkie, if you have any intent of ever selling that gun, I've leave it alone. It's a marking that only certain Sigs have (like the SAS and Equinox), and pieces that go through the "Custom Shop" are "upgraded" in some way.
On the other hand, if you know you'll own it forever and it bugs you, do what you need to do.

Try non chloronated brake cleaner. If it is color filled, that should remove it. Just use the red straw and blast that sucker.

The laser removes the finish and lets the stainless show.

SAS models are among the few SIGs that go through the Custom Shop. Be happy!

For the melt treatment on the frames and slides, but I doubt much else.

Send the pistol to me, that's the only way to make sure you will never see the logo again (or the gun).

I'd leave it alone - it would be like buying a Saleen 302 black label Mustang and insisting it look totally stock...

It's up to $99.95 now. Scroll down on that link to about mid-page and look for "Finish Services"
