Removing Custom Shop logo

Is there a way to remove the Custom Shop logo without damaging the Nitron finish. I can't tell if it's very lightly engraved and filled in, or if it is just printed on. Either way, I think my 229 SAS would look a lot better without it.

Thoughts?

Are you talking about the markings on the slide? I believe they are laser engraved. You'd probably have to refinish it.

I wonder if the Custom Shop would remove the Custom Shop logo? I'm picturing what their faces would look like if you asked.

Yes, on the right side of the slide. I would prefer if it was just etched, but not filled in white. That's why I was wondering if the paint or whatever is used could be removed.

It's not a big deal, just wondering if it was possible. Minor nit aside, this thing is fantastic.

I'm like you and don't care for the logo. On some models (P938 Equinox IIRC) the logo is laser etched, but on others it looks to be some type of appliqué. On those models it could probably be bead blasted off and the slide re-Nitron plated. I picked the RFID tag off of my M11A1 without damaging the finish, but removing the CS logo is not something that I would try to do myself.

Call SIG and see what they can offer.

On My three Equinoxes it is filled in in Black.
I like the logo because people who see the logo thin they are custom guns.

My 224 SAS has the CS logo as well. Mine is clearly visible, but I don't even think about it when handling it. Is yours really conspicuous and bright?

I think it stands out, but it's not too big a deal. Just prefer the writing on the slide and frame to be subtle, and this is not.

Maybe you could fill in over it with black.

Well, that's the odd thing about it. When I run my finger over it, I can't really feel it. It's not like the other engravings on the frame and slide.

Here is one for you boys.
I bought my 227 sas (my first Sig) almost two years ago. It took about two weeks to arrive. I played with it for almost a week and thought that was just a Sig logo. It wasn't until I looked at it with a magnified glass and realized it was the CS logo.

I'm thick skinned so hit me with all the bifocal, old fart jokes you got!
ps I like the logo - that is when I can see it.
