Question Sig Sauer Barrels

Was looking on Sig site for a Barrel for My P226.
I noticed that Sig offers some caliber barrels in both Phosphate/Chrome
and I'm guessing Blued. What is the advantage of the Phosphate?Chrome
barrel over the other finish?

I was thinking about adding a 357 Sig barrel to My P226 40 S&W Equinox
but noticed the 357 Sig barrel is not offered in Phosphate/Chrome. I'm also
guessing that the 357 Sig barrel will just drop in and I'm good to go.

Thanks

The 357 SIG barrel should drop in for you. Don't forget, you can also drop in the OEM SIG 9mm barrel, add a 9mm recoil spring and mags, you are good to go.

My Sig 357 barrel was a drop in into my 229. 357 is a fun round!

I did not want to go thru that expense.
My 40 S&W mags will work with the 357 Sig barrel
I'd rather get another Sig in 9MM most likely a P229

I have a P239 in 357 Sig with a DAK trigger.

Firearms Collector, the phosphate/chrome lined barrels are what is put in the Mk25 "Seal" 9mm, and the M11A1 9mm. I'm not sure but probably the "Combat" models of both 226/229 pistols.

Thanks.
Then I don't know it it would be worth the extra $$ to get one for a regular Sig P series.
I know the 40 S&W mags for the P226 and P229 are phosphate coated,
So I'm wondering why now? My P220 are Stainless and My P239 357 Sig and P938 are
not Blued but something else.

I'm not sure which models have the "DLC" (Diamond Like Coating), which I believe is a "Nitriding Process" Some "circles" say is harder than "hard chrome plating", and doesn't involve the hazardous chemicals involved with plating process.

I think he will have to get a specific convert barrel from Barsto or another vendor to go to 9mm. A oem 9 barrel is too narrow for a 40/357 slide.

I have done extensive study on this. The OEM SIG P226 9mm barrel works very well in the 40/357 slides. I've run over 1,000 rounds of 9mm in an OEM barrel and my 357 slide.

Yes, my recommendation works. Very well.

And what sight picture do you use? How's the consistency with that floating barrel? I'm sure it'll shoot, but I'd want to hit what I'm aiming at... Just curious.

Floating barrel? Care to elaborate? Lock up is pretty darn good.
