EFK Fire Dragon..

What's y'all's take on them? Kind of a cheesy name but some f the products look legitimate. I'm on the market for new springs, hammer and recoil, and they have an interesting concept for the recoil spring that I kind of compare to a Gen 4 glock. It would be for my P220 Carry.

Link: Sig Sauer P220, 45 ACP, 400 Corbon, 40 Super

They also have barrels which I've been toying with the idea of getting as well. They seem pretty nice and they're actually in stock.

Input on any and all of this would be appreciated.

not worth it & may void the warranty but you're right, similar to my g3 g30.

From the online reviews I've seen, I'd stay away from them.

If you want a barrel, look at barsto.

I have purchased 3 Bar-sto barrels. Each time I checked Fire Dragon and reports were good. Bar-sto just worked out each time and are match grade accurate. Top gun has supplied mine quick enough.

Wolff is the main replacement recoils springs and Sig uses them. I have looked at that spring before, and I am not sold considering the price. Granted the guide rod and their system is included. I would still go wolff on springs. Fire Dragon barrels are first rate as far as I have read.

I have an EFK 357 barrel for my p229 and love it. I shoot it over the sig 357 bbl. dropped right in and works flawlessly. I also have a bar-sto conversion 9mm bbl for that gun that works beautifully, again dropped right in. The bar-sto is a better bbl but I had to wait 5 months for it and the EFK in 357 shipped right out. I a pleased with the EFK barrel.

I had poor luck with the EFK recoil reducers for the sig. 40 and 9mm neither worked well but their similar for my 1911 works great. On the sig using their recoil system the slide would not lock back and would get FTF often enough to go back the standard set up.

I had an EFK .45acp extended and ported barrel for an FNP45. Barrel worked great. Dropped right in without any fitting issues, and shot straight and accurate. I was very pleased with it.

Worked well on my 229 in .357 Sig. Very manageable - felt more like shooting one of my 9mm. It wasn't especially fond of shooting anything other than high-power .40 loads when I switched barrels, though. Had a number of jams due to insufficient pressure to allow full cycling of the slide.

I've got KKM, Bar-Sto and EFK. They are all good, no problems ever with any of them.

I looked at the Wolff Springs a bit but I don't really know a whole lot concerning the weights and effects of said weights. Also, they say they are for the 4.4" versions of the P220 and I have a Carry model, 3.9" i believe. I've heard somewhere that a "heavier" recoil spring will lower felt recoil as well as allow you to shoot +p ammo a bit more often. Any trith to this? And how about hammer springs? I'm not sure I'd want to go az low as 17lbs because of the soft hit problems i've heard about but what about 18lbs replacements?

Any helpful links would b much appreciated.

Another problem I'm running into is Bar-Sto doesn't offer Carry length barrels to my knowledge.

Whats the difference in a drop in and match fit

G - the wolff springs web site will have all the information for your gun regardless of make and model. You can sear by model and caliber. I use wolff springs for my 229 357/40. Standard is 17#. I have a conversion bbl for 9mm and I drop down to 15# for 9. These will handle hot loads +p just fine.

For the hammer spring. Again wolff will tell you what is factory, extra power and lighter power weights. I run a 19# main spring in my 229 which is just a couple pounds lighter than factory.

Wolff spring even at factory weight make a difference, they are that good. I find my 229 shoots better with the wolff over the stock sig recoil springs. A couple pounds down in the hammer spring should be just fine. I have never had a problem.

Drop in is Mage to blue print spec for the gun model. Match is intended to be fit by a gunsmith. It is generally a little oversized to allow for a perfect fit. Generally a match fit is not intended ( but can be ) for a save your life pistol but for tight groups in target shooting (match). The two are not inconsistent if don't properly.

The drawback for the drop in is there can be out of spec tolerances in any slide and frame depending on manufacture. I have personally had good luck with drop ins. But I have Springfield, sig and browning pistols all well mAde to specs.
