I agree with most of the favorable comments, the P239 is pretty much perfect. I've owned and sold 3 or 4 of them...but I would love to have the P239 Scorpion .357 back.

Thank you! That looks great. Did you get them straight from Hogue?

I was going to buy a new old stock 239 two tone, 9mm today at a gun show for $675.00 but passed since I have a 229Carry in both 357sig and 9mm. So, I asked my self why get this one. I also have the 224 in 9 and 357/40. So, why get another? It was tempting though. I actually usually carry a Glock 33 in 357sig.

Yes, they fit great. I have the hex screws too, but haven't put them in yet. The nice thing about the G-10, is that if they feel a little too sharp after you try shooting with them, you can just lightly sand the hot spots with some 600 or 800 grit sandpaper and then apply a little mineral oil. The colors really pop after that.

Love me some G-10s especially the Piranha grip.

Nice tip in the mineral oil!

To shoot bullets and be reliable. Both of wich is does very admirably in a nice slim package with a great DA/SA trigger.

What need did/does the P239 satisfy? It's a heavy, large/wide single-stack pistol. If I wanted heavy and/or large, there are double stacks that are roughly the same size. If I want single-stack, there's the P6/225 or a myriad of more concealable single stack guns out there.

I feel like I must be missing something about the '239.
Circuitspore, I'm with you. I own a 9mm 239 that I bought in the 90's, but I have never carried it. In the heat we have here, the high today will be near 80, I normally carry a Shield from March to mid-November. Then, during the cooler months, I switch over to a 229. Still, it would not stop me from buying a German frame 239 in 357 sig if I came across one for a good price.

Not everyone wants poly frame. Not everyone wants a double stack. Not everyone wants a pocket pistol.

The P239 is a good single stack concealable pistol for OWB or IWB carry. With a good belt and holster, the weight is a non issue.

It shoots like a bigger gun than it is at the range. It's one of my favorites to shoot with and to carry.

AVG, what 9mm barrel you running in there? There have been some discussions in the Sig Owners Group on FB on the subject, with some claims that the Sig 9mm barrel isn't reliable in the 239.

+1. Had a 9mm, best gun I ever had (at least till I got my 229). Traded it for a .40 that was going to become a multi caliber project, but funding ran out. Traded back to the OO as he had need of a .40 once again. Traded the 9mm one last time for a Beretta. Worst trade I ever made. The Beretta eventually morphed through a couple swaps into a Walther PPS M2, but dang I wish I had that 239 back. I could shoot better groups with that thing than anything else I've owned.

At first I wasn't too keen on the color. I really wanted black piranhas. They were cheap so I bought them despite not being the color I really wanted. When they were delivered, I fell in love with them. Love the color and love the feel. They look better in person than in the pics.

Great looking well built gun, just doesn't fit my needs. With a gun so big and only 8 rounds I have so many better options. Can carry my P938 with 7 rounds which is much smaller and lighter, or my CZ 75 PCR which is about the same size but has 14 rounds. Nice gun just doesn't fit my needs.
