P250 Gen1 vs. Gen2

I've been researching the P250sc as my new EDC and I have a question concerning the different generations. It's to my understanding that the Gen 1 models were plagued with problems, so I want to make sure I get the Gen 2. Are all new models being sold Gen 2? Does the Gen 2 still come with the smaller, thinner grip? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Go to the SIG site and look at the pic between the two. In short, the new model has the square cutout in the grip frame.

I would love to see the fullsize pistol re-entered in LE and military trails. Except for the fact that some people cannot shoot DAO, it is hard, really hard, for me to see a single flaw in the current rendition of the P250.

My EDC is a P250.

Having bought, sold, shot, fixed and messed with auto pistols for decades, and now, thank God, still fit enough to use them hard in the field under very difficult conditions for a gun, it is hard for me not to add the current P250 to the short list of best auto pistols ever made.

In fact, I think SIG currently makes the best service pistol ever made, in the SP2022, and the best civilian carry pistol; the P250 in SC or C model.

I have a lot of experience with the alum frame guns and they are of course excellent pistols, but the above mentioned modern synthetic framed, steel-on-steel guns are really excellent and superb pistols, better than the Classic series IMO.

I went to the Sig website and it appears to me that the p250sc comes with a standard frame and one with an accessory rail. I watched a video on YouTube where this guy bought the new frame w/ rail, but the grip was thicker than the standard frame he had. Do all frames w/ rail have the wider thicker grip? Bottom line is that I want the Gen 2 model, rail or no rail is ok, but I do want the smaller thinner grip. The thick, chunky grip of my Glock 26 is main reason I sold it. It never really fit my had well. Thanks for any info!

I guess I really do not know the answer to this.

I have 2 SC's and they both have the same grip which I guess you are saying is the thinner one.

I wonder tho if you are mistaking the SUBCompact with the COMpact. The Compact has a rail, the SUBCompact, none of them as far as I know, have a rail. Neither of mine have rails.

I hope this helps.

BTW: Yes, my SUBCompact is smaller in the grip than my G19 was. But oddly, all the holsters I made for my Glock 19 are too SMALL in the dimension from top of slide to bottom of trigger guard. Just a smidge, but none of the holsters fit.

Thanks for your help! I did find the answer I was looking for though. There are two grip sizes available now for the P250 SUBcompact. The standard SMALL grip with no rail and a MEDIUM grip with a rail. I found them in Sig's website. The medium grip frame with rail is $46! I like the frame with the rail, but I wish they offered it with the SMALL grip though. Thanks again!

Interesting!

I didn't know that. Heck, for 46 bones I might give it a try.

You have to find one first! Lol

I would love to get one for my 250sc because of the medium grip, but they have been hard to come by.

To the O/P

Also I believe the gen 1 250's have a different serial number. I think gen1 has EAUXXXXX and gen2 has EAKXXXXX

Sub compact has two different grip sizes, compact and full size have three different grip sizes.

The Sig Store from Sig's website shows the p250sc medium grip in stock for $46.00. But $14.95 for shipping is ridiculous!
