My issue with my long extractor 226 is those with short extractors poke fun at it.
That's because they are compensating.

Our extractors are bigger than theirs!

OH MY!! When I posted that I didn't even think along those lines. I was just talking about how folks always say they are ugly and such. You go me good.

That's because we have the original long extractor (internal).

Downside is our extractors are a pain to source. I bought 3 before I bought my first internal extractor Sig for a reason. Also people have this dumb habit of feeding the chamber by dropping a round in and slamming the slide, vs feeding from a magazine. That will break an internal extractor in a heart beat.

I've got a couple with long extractors and never had a problem. I don't care what extractor a Sig I want has, I just buy it! The 229 on my avatar pic I bought in fall of 2012 I have 2 barrels for it 357/40 and have run the craap out of it. Not one issue. My other long is a 229 9mm that I've had for a year + round count on that one is around 1k no problems.

have 4

Have 4 226's with the long extractor, they work fine. there was a short period where they had an issue, but it ended up being the barrel like someone said earlier I believe.
