Yea, more and more that feels like the right answer. The question then becomes 9mm or 357...

There is a nice 357 on GB right now for a good price.

The P225 isn't too terribly different from what you got already (P228/P229). How about a P239?

P229 Classic Carry - this is that Talo setup out there that has the older slimmer frame that uses the old mags
Older yes. Slimmer no. External dimensions are the same. Only difference is the 229-1 frame has the wider magwell (internal dimensions are just a little larger).

My vote is 229 SAS Gen 2 in 357Sig, and just buy a 9mm barrel and spring if you want it.

So I really have thought about a P239 as a BUG or when I want a bit smaller carry. But for those of you who have them are they that noticeably smaller? They are heavier by 5oz than my p320.

So this is what interest me with how Sig designs their guns. Here are 6 of the ones we have been talking about.

I would expect the smaller P239 to be closer to the P320 in weight and not almost identical to the M11-A1.

The P229c wins the Barrel length but loses in overall length.

Interestingly the dimensions of the P239 and my P229c are pretty much negligible except in height.

Granted, major variances are difficult but I would expect the two single stack numbers to be better from a width standpoint.

While I got these numbers off either the Sig web site or other internet source, I expect that the P229c width is not correct but every source I could find says that it is 1.3. Thus I measured mine and sure enough it came in at 1.3.

The P320, using the large grip frame came in at just a tad over 1.4 with Talon grip tape.

Thus, the P229c represents a double stack 9mm in extremely close P239 stats. The extra .3 in the grip is helpful for a guy like me with larger hands. The P229c, for all intents in purposes, renders the P225 somewhat moot.

So in reality, what I would want in a smaller width single stack that the P239 should represent is only negligibly so. The weight factor goes hands down to the P320.

So, I guess getting a P229 SAS would just be gettign me a melt in a larger package than the P229c.

So maybe I should just wait until I find one of these;

The P239 is considerably easier for me to conceal than my P229. I know on paper they are similar, but most people who carry a P239 will tell you it is much different than a P229. Three calibers is a nice benefit too.

I almost didn't even bother with the P229 this winter--even under bulky clothes.

That is what I want to hear BBLR. I know that paper numbers rarely tell the tale, that is why I wanted to get young guys who are carrying them to let me know.

That's interesting, I carry my P320 and P228 under a tee-shirt.
