Yes, the legion is just like any other 229 in that regard. The slide will be black I'm told.

Thanks! I moved from Glocks so when I started looking at Sig's I was drawn to the P320 with the Romeo. Now that I have a 229 Legion, I've grown to love the DA/SA. Not sure I want to go back to striker so this option may resolve.

From what I hear, the slide WILL INCLUDE the optic, however the pricing I originally posted is wrong, or at least it may be wholesale/LE pricing. The prices for the slides will be $589 that will include optic, barrel, recoil, and 1 magazine. It also my understanding that it will be co-witness with suppressor sights, (not the one's currently on the 320 RX)

They will also have a complete kit for the 320 in both full size and compact w/ optic and compete assembly along with 1 mag and grip. for $689.
I"m taking a wait & see approach! Until it hits the street for sale we're all just guessing!

I plan to get a California compliant P229, which, unfortunately, has a Loaded Chamber Indicator on top of the slide. Will I be able to swap that slide out for this RX/229 slide? If so then I get rid of the LCI and get a co-witness Red Dot. That would be cool!

I hear ya. Word I hear is that it likely won't be available until towards the end of the year. In sig terms that's probably the first of next year.

I called the Sig Pro Shop (Phone: 603.610.3456) and they sold me a Romeo 1 / Slide conversion kit for the P229. 9mm only. $526 including $20 shipping to CA. Includes the slide with the Romeo 1 mounted, co-witness sights, barrel, spring, rod. They took out the 15 round mag (not CA legal) and said it couldn't be replaced with a 10 round mag -- I would have to pay extra. They said it was the last one for the P229 -- I didn't ask about P226 availability.

Would love a Romeo 1 on my 229 but $526, ouch. Question, why do you need a new barrel for the conversion? Is the ejector port's location different because of the optic?

I don't know -- I will report back after I receive it. I suspect it may be because it is packaged as a traditional "conversion package". In fact, if I had known I'd be purchasing this, I could have bought a .40 version of the P229 so I'd have two calibers.

Interesting, I just checked the Sig website and it's not available at their "store".

Will this slide only work with the SIG optic? Or can you put a different RMR on it?

I would not want to be locked into a SIG optic only. I realize this is a package deal, I'm just wondering if other optics will work on the slide.

I would hope this is true, would only be romeo 1 compatible unless some one makes a plate that would adapt but I kinda want a cheaper practice option from 357 one I plan on doing for carry with trijicon. I asked the customer service people about this about 2-3 weeks ago and they basically said not going to happen...I wish they would be one the same page (not the first time I would get different answers from different CS representatives though). But they have always been good to me when calling the repair service area.

The Romeo 1 has a proprietary (?) dovetail shape so I'm guessing other brands wouldn't fit. Sig has kits to mount the Romeo 1 on other handguns, but other sights won't work on the slide with this kit.
