I went and took it to the range yesterday. Put about 100 rounds through it. I absolutely love this handgun. My accuracy is phenomenal, that SRT is VERY nice, and I kept on getting compliments on the night sights and front cocking serrations. From the first shot to the last, it was great. Even had a little friendly bet with my friend on a hostage target with our last 10 rounds each. He hit 8 with taking his time, and I hit all 10 speed shooting. Not to ba his gun at all (a nice Walther p99) but I'm a novice and came out on top. So all be said, I absolutely love my Sig!

| Great pistol
I recently bought a P229 SAS and that gun shoots like a dream! I like the trigger and it just feels so well made and put together. I need to shoot mine this week as well as the P6 I now have. Enjoy your P229! |

You got a great pistol! I have three Sig P229s and as you can tell, I really like them or I would't have three. I have a 9mm, a 40S&W, and a 357 Sig. It solves the problem of which one to carry - any of them. My holster fits all three so it just depends on how I feel that day.

Hey Dave, you didn't have any issues with it being the New SAS with the new long extractor? Great News. I was going to order one but went with one I found with a short extractor just because I read so many posts that those new gen2's with long extractors had all kinds of issues about not going into battery etc. although I think I read that the 229's in 40 were the only ones with all the problems. Is yours a 40 or 9mm? Last edited by Fuzzybottoms; 03-08-2012 at 11:40 AM. Reason: added |

In the first picture, showing the gun in the case, what is that rod with the T-handle? Some kind of cleaning rod?

Smith3466 Thanks. Can't wait to go try it out. Hope I have one without all the feeding issues I've been reading about lately. Although, it appears that they are primarily with the Gen2 SAS's? I was going to order one because a friend of my son has a ffl so could get a good price. But after reading all the problems I didn't want to chance it so looked around and found mine with the short / old style extractor in hopes of avoiding any possible issues.
