| SIG 239. Real world prices?
Hi, 1st post on SIGtalk, so here goes. I'm considering the purchase of a SIG p239 (40 S&W) that my dealer has in his case, NIB. It is the da/sa model, with the SIG installed night sights. He's asking $650 for the gun. Any opinions on that price? He is usually A LOT cheaper on most guns, just wondering about the SIG. If I do decide to buy, it will be my first "regular" SIG ( I previously owned one of their early 1911s). It caught my eye in the case as I was looking at an XD subcompact 9...... Not nearly the capacity, but the SIG is smooth as butter (albiet $200 more than the XD). By the way, this will probably be my main CCW if I make the purchase. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks. |

From what I have seen that looks to be a pretty decent price,*in*the*ballpark*of*whats*available*online.

In my opinion, that is not a bad price at all for NIB w/ night sights. Welcome to the forum from Pennsylvania. |

I agree, and welcome to the Forum. The prices I'm seeing here are a lot higher than that, so I don't think you will go wrong there. I currently own two; a 9mm(my favorite for concealed carry), and a .40/.357. The accuracy with both pistols is outstanding. I say go for it !

I just went through a feeding frenzy that included consideration of a P239 that was LIKE NIB, but was actually used. Out the door it would have cost me $634. I have total confidence in the caliber after carrying a 229 as a duty weapon, and after reports from my son in the Border Patrol about .40 S&W incidents in his agency. However, I ended up with a P245 for the same money and I am extremely pleased with my choice. But there just might be a P239 out there with my name on it. NIB for $650? I'd do it. |

| Sig 239 $$$
$650 seams a bit high though. I paid $550 and got a like nib with holster and extra mags. I added a 10 round mag and this package makes for a good sd weapon at home and the regular mag for carry. My carry is a 9 because I practice with the 9 more. The 357 is great but I can't afford the high ammo costs. The 239 conceals well and is comforting as well. One back up mag is all needed as I don't foresee any major shoot out as I am retired.

I guess I was wrong about the price.... It was $620. I put it on layaway until I can scrape up the cash to bring her home. I'm kinda having second thoughts about the Glock 20 I just picked up, although it is a nice shooting gun, I'm rather fixated on the SIG at the moment. Considering it has night sights on it, it seems like a pretty good deal to me, I jumped on it before it was bought by someone else while I was "thinking about it". |

| No can do......there's just something very comforting about having that badboy on my nightstand with 16 rounds of 10mm available as a-hole repellant. That being said, I'm currently going through my inventory of non-essential, easily liquidatable stuff to see if I can get that SIG home a LITTLE sooner.... |

$650 is a great price, just bought a P239 in 9mm with night sights and paid $750 NIB ( in fact only 4 days old based on data from the black box) but again, it's Kalifornia prices....

If it's NIB, that is a fantastic price. They're getting that and more for used on Gunbroker.

My FFL buddy just ordered me a P239 9mm with night sites, his price from the wholesaler without shipping was $612. $620 or even $650 is a steal.

That's a good price. I paid $710 out-the-door for a brand new one that I ordered with night sights.... I guess around $665 pre-tax. I've seen used models in the high $500s. I hate the term NIB as people use it too often to describe used guns. New means new.... unused, never sold retail.
