Current Sig P229 .40/.357 Sig model feedback

Considering a new Sig P229 .40/.357 Sig(standard model) & would appreciate feedback from members at SIG Talk.

Love it!! Look at my avatar. The 229 is my most favorite!! Unless you reload, I would forgo the .357 Sig as an option unless you get a spare barrel to shoot that caliber, as it is very expensive to shoot. Fortunately I reload several calibers, so the costs are kept down. Don't wait, get you one and start enjoying the wonderfulness of owning a superior handgun that will last you a lifetime!!

Thanks for the reply. When I do buy it, I'll get the .40 & then later buy a .357 barrel.

Nice Sig you got there.

Smile sig 229

One of the finest handguns made.It is my preferred primary carry. My preference is the 357 sig but the 40 is not too shabby either.

I like the .357 Sig & with the .40 all it takes is a barrel change. Thanks for the reply.

I love my 229. I am thinking about getting the .357 barrel as well. I love the snap of the 40 cal, in the 229 it is a thing of beauty. It is by far my favorite pistol, and I am thinking about getting a back up just in case.

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like the P229 in .40 w/.357 sig barrel is an excellent combo Sig.

GREAT gun! Shoots where you point it! However I have the short trigger and it pinches and will eventually send it back for a "regular trigger".

I am also looking at the 229, but in 357 SIG. Wondering about the 22LR conversion. Does anyone have any experience with it?

I'm going to look into the .22lr conversion. Sig retail price is $285. Maybe any members that used this conversion on the P229 or P226 would post their experiences.

The short trigger especially with the E2 grip & my P220 Carry that has the short trigger, is the same issue for me. I'm sending my 220 back to Sig to install the standard trigger, awaiting shipping label(Sig made me deal that I couldn't refuse).

I really like the Sig P229 - here are my three - a 9mm (top), a 40S&W, and a 357 Sig - http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSC_0013.jpg

They are fine pistol.

Nice Sigs. You've got the P229 covered very well.

9mm in a 40 cal?

so I own a 40 cal P229. You can just do a barrel swap to .357 and no need to change slide or mags, correct?

How about a 9mm barrel? Can I put that in my 40 cal too? Or will need slide or mags or both? or not even possible and would need to buy a separate 229 in 9mm?

Just picked up my P229 SCT today in .40!!! I love it

The guy at the gun shop had to apologize because I had the Hogue finger groove grips put on and he couldn't put it down to complete the sale haha

I think they sell a conversion kit with a 9mm slide barrel and magazine all together
