| Scorpion Finish
Thinking about a Sig P229 scorpion and I'm interested to hear how the finish holds up. I don't mean after a box or two, I mean after a few thousand rounds and in and out of a holster a thousand times too. These things are expensive but that's okay if they hold up well and last a long time.

I have had mine a couple of months and have shot 600 - 700 rounds through it. It seems to be holding up fine. It however has spent little time in a holster but it will soon be the EDC gun. I know that is not the specific info that you are looking for but hope it helps. Good luck on your decision and safe shooting. |

Thanks for the info, 6-700 is a good amount. I think after that many rounds, you would know if the finish was wearing poorly or not. I found a dealer that has a good selection of Sigs. I can't wait to see a 229 scorpion first hand. What do you guys think would be better for the cerakote, Leather or Kydex?? |

I have a leather Don Hume (J.I.T. Slide) OWB that is nice, and I also have a Black Hawk paddle holster as well. I haven't really carried that much in either holster, but I feel that the leather my be the better option for me. I think that it is just going to be trial and error at this point. I would say that looking at the gun, the finish is perfect. I am more then happy with this gun. I am seriously thinking about getting another for a back up.

cool, If you want another one, that is a good testament. I found one semi-locally. I can't wait to go look t it in person and stop drooling on my keyboard. I saw the Scorpion 1911 in sportsmens wrehouse and it was awesome, but that is an entirely different weapon. |

Good luck man. If you go look at it you will probably have it follow you home. I did my fair share of drooling over the the keyboard as well. The pictures on the website are good but they don't do it justice. They look much better in person. I would say that in my opinion it would be worth the trip to take a gander at it. Good luck and safe shooting. |
