E2 Grip conversion

Hi, new to the forum, so maybe this has been done to death and if so, sorry....but wondering about what is involved in converting to E2 Grips. Got my hands on a P226 with the E2 grips on it at a local shop today, and loved them. I have a P226 with the older, standard grips on it (and a set of Pacs which were too much for my liking, and a set of checkered cocobola grips from Hogue which feel and look good, thats them in my Avatar, but I find myself 'reaching around' to get at my mag release)....anyway, wondering if the E2 grip is a straight swap, or if I need to change internals (springs?) as well? thanks in advance, this looks like a great forum. If anyone is selling a set, PM me!

As an aside, I'm fairly new to handguns (18 months), the P226 in 9mm was my first pistol, and that wrecked me for Sigs. Now I have a P220 Equinox (.45), 1911 Stainless Carry, Mosquito (which works just fine contrary to all the negative stuff I've heard about them), and put money down today on a P226 Elite Stainless in .40 S&W....and a Ruger GP100 ss 4.2" (hey, it's Canada, it's not legal to have a scarey 4" barrel, so they all have to be 4.2", makes the P229 look stupid IMO with the barrel hanging out!) to round out the set. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.....

Sig Sauer E2 Grip Kit P226 - Top Gun Supply

Check out the link above. There are only 2 things that you need to worry about working with the new grips.

You need to have the new style main spring, and new style trigger bar spring.

Both can easily be seen by simply removing the grips.

Let me know if you need any more info

And use this. Easy as can be. I did it to my P226 and if I can do it anybody can. Just watch that hammer spring. She's got some pressure behind her.

EDIT: Opps, bad link. Just good e2 grip installation and the 1st link takes you to a PDF that I used.
