I know it's reputation isn't close to the 210 legend but....

My Older X5L1 is a lot better shooter than I am and challenges me at my current limits.
Its not a 210, but I got it as a CPO at a decent price. I think we have intermediate alternatives to the 210 from Sig now that we may not have had a few decades ago.

It's a win-win for customers and I'd love to see a High Master shoot both and see if there;s much of a difference in performance.
In my hands, I don't know if there would be any major difference.

Both the SIG website and 2014 catalog state that the SIG P210 Legend comes with a fixed notch rear sight (adjustable for drift in the catalog). I am speculating that when ROCO says the P210 Legend comes with fixed or adjustable sights, they are referring to the P210 Legend Target with the adjustable sight because as far as I can tell, that is the only major difference between the two.

Adjustable sights seem like a fine idea, but if the new P210 Legend is anywhere near as good as an X5 or X6, you might not need that feature?

I've thought about fiddling with the rear sight on my X6, but my findings so far are:
1. From 5 - 15 yds, if I do everything I should do, the bullets hit the target exactly where I aimed... Or I'm completely missing the target after the first 3 or 4 shots... Or shots 5 and above are going down the same holes as 1 through 4...
2. From 16 - 25 yds, if I do everything I should do, my groups generally are within 1 and 2 inches... Any flyers are 100% me doing something wrong.

It's not me. It's the gun. Every time. No sight fiddling required. Just firm grip, good sight picture (front sight in focus, over a fuzzy target and slotted into a fuzzy rear sight), solid squeeze of the trigger = job done, another bullseye's weekend ruined.

I get the distinct impression that this is the rule rather than the exception, on all of SIG's higher end pistols?

I've got one of the new P210 Legend (not Target). It has fixed sights. Only the Target comes with the adjustable rear sight.

The new P210 is just as good as the original P210 IMHO (I have those too). It's a little "easier" to manage at the range as opposed to the X series. I shoot just as well with both pistol types, but at the end of the shooting day, my wrist feels it when shooting only with the X series, whereas with the P210, nothing - it's all weight related.

If i'm using the 210 just for target shooting at the range - Should i spend the xx $200 for the Target ? I'm not shooting 100 yards. 25 yards -tops..

My P210 Legend Target, it comes with a key for adjustment but it's fine right where it was set when I acquired it.

It's all personal preference. If you get the target model you have more adjustment ability than with a fixed sight. All my 210s are exactly as they were set at the factory and they are dead on.

I suggest that if it's a question in your mind, get the Target, that way you have it all.

Good luck!

Rethinking this... I agree, for the extra bucks, it's a neat addition. Who knows, some day you might just HAVE to hit that coke can at 100 paces... Just to win a bet? Then, you'll wish you had the adjustable rear sight.
