SP2022 Grips Question

I have had my Sig Pro for a while now and was interested in getting new grips. When I checked out the second grip my Pro came with, I swear it is exactly the same as the one I have installed. When I looked on Top Gun the grips I have look exactly like the small grips they offer. Does anyone have any info on this, I have seen different stlyes of grips but I wasn't sure if the mediums looked a certian way and the large grips looked different than both the small and medium.

They appear to be the same but there are slight differences in the thickness of the backstrap. It is sort of difficult to tell the difference but there is part numbers inside the grips to distinguish the different sizes but I do not know the exact numbers at the moment. Hope this helps.

The grip numbers are as follows:

small ends in 00002

medium ends in 00003

large ends in 00004

I know they look the same but there is a difference. When I switched the small for the medium, I could feel a difference right away.

I use the medium and gave away my small.

Then there are different grip styles with new E2 grip texture that bears the Sig Sauer name or the old non-E2 that is marked Sigpro.

Just a little inside info on removing your grips on the 2022. The little tab inside the magwell is rather stiff. I could not push it in all the way with my fingers so I had to take the handle end of one of our butter knives and mash down on the tab at the same time applying pressure to slide the grips down. If you have someone that can lend you a hand in holding the gun for you it may be a little easier. The grips slide off at an angle. I have gotten better at removing them since my first time but it was a bit difficult on my first try. Once you get the grips slid down past the catch point of the tab they slide off easily. When putting the others on they must slide on following the grooves and make sure that the tab fully engages. I know I made it sound difficult but it really isn't once you have done it. Once you got the grips off that would be a good time to check the lubrication of the springs that will be exposed.
Hope this helps.

Thanks again

I was able to get it off real easy, thanks for the tip. Sure enough it had the small grip on it, once I switched it out I could tell the difference very quickly.

Does it usually come with the medium and large? Or the small and medium? I cant seem to find any part # on either of my grips. I know one of my grips is definitely larger than the other....I just can't tell if it is the medium or small. If it's the medium I think i will purchase the small mine just seems a tich to big. Thanks guys.

The numbers are located inside the grip just below where the hammer would be. You have to remove them to see. Look futher down on post #3 of this thread to see Leejack's list of numbers.
