Just stopped at my LGS on my way home from work to pick up some ammo. Looking over their Sig shelves I spied a 220 Carry SAS. I asked to take a look at it and it looked and felt pretty sweet like 220's do.
So now I'm sitting outside debating on this 220 Carry SAS or the 239 SAS 40/357 that I was wanting for my next Sig. I don't have any 40/357's in my collection yet, but that 220 Carry SAS fits right between my Combat and Compact SAS in size. I better head home and think this over.
Wait for a 239 SAS 40/357 to show up or get the 220 Carry SAS that sitting there taunting me? Hmmm
None of those floating around here right now. There's a 239 SAS but it's in 9mm so I'm skipping on that. I don't buy of the net so I practice the virtue of patience for one to show up.
Go get the P220 Carry. I have one and it is my second favorite Pistol. The P220 Carry is awesome - it shoots soft and is very accurate. Just so you will know, another Sig is my favorite.
All of the dealers around here seem to prefer Kimbers more than Sig.
Most do not stock anything in 357 Sig. That all say because ammo is
so hard to come by, a 357 Sig just sits there. If you want one it has to
be Special Order and at full MSRP some charge more.
Seems true around here for the 357 also. Plenty of ammo to be found but not the guns so much. That's ok though as plenty of 40's so all I'll need to do is get the extra 357 barrel.
On another note I did ask about the elusive 227 SAS. This LGS said that they had no plans of stocking much in the 227's. He said everyone wanted to look at them when they first came out but they weren't selling. Seems the people in my area prefer the 220's. Interesting.
Patience has benefits and pittfalls.
Last fall I had a 95 German two tone that is very nice.
Then one range had a used safe queen 220 ST full size, and the other range had a 220 compact SAO that looked like is was nearly unfired. I like SAO.
I debated from Sept. to December. Patience would give me the right decision.
I decided on the compact because my 400 Bar-sto barrel would not fit the ST.
Two weeks later I watched a Bar-sto DVD, and Irv Stone explained why a Bar-sto wouldn't fit an ST and how to fix it. Next day I had my third 220.
Then a week later at a gun show there was a lovely Swiss police 225. Damn that was an expensive turkey to Christmas period.
I predict you will have a carry SAS and a 239-40/357. Signess is incurable.
Haha, just woke up from 5 hours of sleep. I need to sit down and figure out if finances will let me take her home today or if she needs to go on layaway.
Stupid wedding that I'm forced to go to next week or it wouldn't even matter. Pops says I have to attend his granddaughters wedding or he'll shoot me. Won't need the new Sig then. Hate weddings.
LGS doesn't open till 11:00 today. I think there's time for coffee.
I mulled it over and looked over my finances. Stole the money I was putting aside for the 239, and also stole the money earmarked for a couple new holsters. I'm broke now. But how is one supposed to pass up a Sig Sexy As Sin when it's in stock.
Born on date is 12 June 2014. I'll get pics later when I get home.
I don't know how many times I have seen a gun, thought about it, come back and it is gone and never see that model for sale again.
I went to a gun show and saw a Ruger Match Champion, thought about it and still haven't seen one since.
Went to a gun show to buy an all steel P220, didn't find one so I bought my Rossi, after buying the Rossi a guy comes up and sets up a table and puts out an all stainless steel P220, decided I had spent enough money that day so I thought about it, never saw one again.
You can get money again later but you might never be able to get a gun that you want again.
Grats on the new P220! If you ever get tired of it I will buy it from you for $100
Haha, I hear that.
My Dan Wesson has been nearly retired since I discovered the Sig P220.
These 220s are only clean for a few days per week. Just can't shoot them enough.
I'll put pics up later when I get home. Just stopped at another place to check on a 239 SAS 9mm for another member. They have a 40 SAS and a Nitron & two tone 9mm SAS in stock. That 239 has to wait till next year. All out of money now.
Don't have time to clean and lube her today. Shootings also going to have to wait a few weeks before I get some free time. I'm sure she'll function as flawless as my other Sigs have.
I do like the contour of the E2 grips on her. The backstrap has a better feel the the slim grips on my Combat. More rounded than pointy. The E2's also have a thinner feel than the grips on my Compact. In fact if Sig offered E2's for the Compact I'd definitely get some. I like its contour even better than the Hogue G10's.
The SRT feels just as sweet as all my others do. And just like all my other SAS Sigs it also has the short trigger which suits my s/m hands.
Overall I think she'll make a fine carry gun for the winter. Thanks to you enablers, the 239 is still on next years list.
I got the SAS cleaned and lubed tonight. Not much cleaning needed. My last couple Sigs were pretty clean coming from Sig with just a bit of light oiling.
I'll post up a report on her after I get some range time with her.
Sorry but I have this thing for rail free SAS Sigs.
