Want to try a new rear sight Sp2022

Hey guys so I've read here before that someone had a single dot rear sight to line up with the front sight. Is there any place I can purchase this? I remember it being called a vertical sight system or some such.

thanks!

Do you mean the SIG contrast sights or heinie sights? Both are 2 dot sights, one in the back, one in the middle. If you purchased your 2022 with a 3 dot sight, you have night sights. If you'd like contrast sights, then you wasted $80.
I think topgun supply has all kinds of sights for the 2022. That's where I look forst when I need something for mine anyway.

I don't think you understand. If your sights have 3 dots now, your sigpro is equiped with night sights. As far as I know, only the 2 dots are contrast, and SIG does not offer a 2 dot night sight nor a3 dot contrast. So, if you have contrast sights with 3 dots, it s something I've never heard of. But then, I am known for being wrong more often then not.

I understand completely. My sights both front and rear do not glow in the dark. they are contrast number 8 in the back #6 in the front i believe. i can double check later. my sights are a U in the back with 2 separate dots and then a middle space to line up the front sight. If i had night sights i would have paid 449 instead if 399. Ive checked mine at night and they still dont glow. I wanted night sights but have no need because im going to get a light anyways.

These are the same sights mine came with from Academy, and I am also looking for something else. Only one's I've really read about so far are the meprolights, but I'm interested in the ones you describe. Let me know if you find em!

Sig2022's have came with 3 dot contrast, 3 dot night sights, and "dot the I" sights. I originally had the 3 dot contrast which I changed out to the 3 dot night sights from Meprolight whom btw manufacture the factory Siglites. Hope this clears up some confusion I am reading in this thread.

I believe the basic SP2022 came with 3 dot contrast sights for a little while, but now the newest ones (last few months) have switched to the vertical I-dot set up. I have the vertical I-dot sights on my SP2022 (may 2012 manufacured) and I like them. They are pretty easy to use, but I am not an expert pistol shooter.

Boogalu et.al.

My SP2022 also came with the day-only, over/under 2-sights. Another option for night sighting are TFO (tritium-fiber optic) standard 2-rear, 1-front sights - they glow bright green day, dusk, or night....~$89 a set at OpticsPlanet. The SP2022 takes #8 front and rear. I don't know if they offer them in the 2-dot combat sight version, but I surely do like the 2-rear, 1-front set that I now have on my 2022. That bright green is extremely fast to pick up and line up.

I have a 226 with the 3 dot sights and I was wondering what people favor for sights? I was thinking of changing mine to the 2 dot sights that you are all refering to but I am unsure. Is it a personal prefernce to the sights or is there more to it. I think I remember reading somewhere that thevertical stacked dots is supposed to be a faster sight to use but I would say that is a personal idea as well. I am rather new to guns and all I have ever used is the 3 dot system that came with my pistol and was curious as to others thoughts on differrent sights.

I'll tell ya it's hard to figure out exactly where to stop elevating the barrel. I'm going to get night sights installed

for a quick line up yes you can get center mass. to get a decent group is MUCH harder. the classic three dot is better for precision shooting.

My 2022 has the 3-dot SigLites, which are amazingly bright. But for daytime range shooting, the 3 dot contrast are much easier to see. Before I bought, I rented, and tried both. I do like the 3 dot configuration, though.
