SIG P220 Limited Edition Question

SIG fans,

I need your help.

For the longest, I have been scouring the internet trying to find out any info regarding P220 I have. I can't even find any pictures of the same gun, much less any other info ANYWHERE on the internet.

I was hoping I could gather the thoughts of some of the more educated SIG historians out there to try to help me. It's a very unique P220 and I can't find any other like it.

Here is what I know:

1. Made in West Germany
2. Original German Manual included
3. Original test fire certificate (in German)
4. From my own research, (which may be flawed, but I think its correct) this gun was manufactured in 1993.
5. On the box, the official model number reads SIGP22045 LTD (which I assume LTD means limited edition) Serial number G212480.

PS: Sorry for the picks below not being cropped correctly. Its the best I could do =)

Thanks Nick, I'm looking forward to it! Hopefully someone can give a little more info. Seriously though, I have looked for hours and hours with no other gun like it around and my brother in law has the KBB subscription service and couldn't find the gun there as well. Just a little baffled.

I was hoping the custom accents were factory and not done aftermarket. The box does say LTD and with the gold emblem engraved at the top, I assumed it was done by the factory?

Thanks for all your help Nick. I think that is as close as I have found as to even being close to what I have in the pics. The gold accents are the same looks like. But there isn't the gold Swiss emblem on the top obviously since its nickel. And its also not a W. German model.

Just on a side note. I went to 2 different FFL dealers and had them pull the serial number. Both said the serial number does not exist on their system. I also had my brother in law pull the serial number on his paid KBB subscription and looked it up, but he came to the same conclusion. I was told by one of the firearms dealer that it "could" have been made by the factory for a specific person? or persons?

I also called SIG 2 times and talked to 2 different people, one being the most senior customer service guy and he had no answers as well, but agreed that is was most likely done all by the factory and none after market.

Yup. No Dice with Sig corporate. They said they could only go back 7 years. They did say that the best thing to do would be to post all the info I have on a Sig forum and hopefully some folks could help piece the rest of the story together. I could only describe it over the phone and they said that it had to be rare but their records just won't go back 20 years for this particular Sig. Unfortunately the original owner has passed and so did the rest of the story so to speak.

Finall found out what it is exactly

OK Ya'll

Here is the final answer:

It is a 1993 Lew Horton Premium Edition Limited

Only 200 were made.

It's retail price before taxes in 1993 was $850 dollars.

It was specifically made for The Lew Horton Manufacturing Company and they verified the serial number for me over the phone.

FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT AND I THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP.

Now If I only knew what it was worth in todays dollars? Either way, Im glad the mystery is solved. Thanks again for the help.

Congrats. put it in a lockbox and put the lockbox in the safe, and freeze the lockbox key in a 20 pound block of ice. that way you will really have to think about firing it.
