I've heard that the .357 sig is rather rough on guns. Is there additional wear and tear on the 250 compact with this round as opposed to the .40 cal version ?

Actually there is less wear to the P250s than other sigs, except the stainless models.

The experts say this is because the steel slide runs on the steel rail inserts of the FCU ( and on the steel rails of the Stainless models) as opposed to the alloy rails of the Classic P-series.

Which is why rail wear is a real concern in a used P-series Sig purchase.

With the P250 as opposed to other Poly pistols there are no pins holding the firing mech into the poly frame to absorbe the stress of recoil and become loose.

The FAM, who until lately used the P250 in .357sig, didnt report any adverse wear in any of their reports that I've read.

I like the P250 myself, though I know it has its detractors its one of 3 pistols in my Concealed Carry rotation.

II also like the P250 in my concealed carry rotation,I have it in 9mm SC& my favorite 40 s&w compact. When you pick it up (P250 40 s&w C) it just feels right, several other people have made the same comment when feeling it@ the range.

Thanks for the replies.

I don't have [ yet ] but the ones I have handled at gun stores and shows certainly do feel good. I believe it's dimensions are bigger grip wise than the glock 19/23 series but I swear it just feels better in the hand. Unforunately all the stores had the medium width ones on display and didn't want to switch it out with the slim grip for me to try.As good as the medium feels I can't wait to try the slim.

I work in a gun store and we have yet to see any P250s in .357 Sig. Whenever we get a subcompact P250 in .357 Sig, I'm a goner. I stay broke all the time.
