| SP2022 Take down lever
Does anyone know what coating or finish that Sig uses on the Slide release/take down lever on the SP2022? I noticed after walking around for 2 days in the Galveston, Texas heat that I had two little rust spots forming on my takedown lever where your thumb would rest to release the slide. I know it was from sweat as it was really hot and I was drenched at the end of each day. I probably should have wiped it down but didn't think about it being in the holster. When we returned home I checked my weapon and immediately removed the slide release and scrubbed the spot with clp and got it off. Then did a wipe down on the rest of the pistol. Question really is, If it becomes a problem spot with rust I just want to know what I need to have it refinished with, Nitron or Bluing. |

As new as your pistol is Kenny, I would do like the poster above me said and contact SIG. Sounds like the finish is too thin on the lever to me. Unless you have worn it off, that is. I doubt that since it sounds like you take great care of it.
