This is a discussion on sig reciever touch up within the SIG Sauer Pistols forums, part of the SIG Sauer Forum category; whats the best way to touch up......an aluminum reciever?? my sig had some dings i polished out and want to touch up...any suggestions!!!!!!...

whats the best way to touch up......an aluminum reciever?? my sig had some dings i polished out and want to touch up...any suggestions!!!!!!

Sorry, I don't understand the question. What is to touch up if you polished them out. If you got below the anodize there will be a problem and as far as I know the whole thing will have to be re anodized, and I have no clue who has a way of doing that!

Lowe pistol reciever is aluminum black finish...reciever had been ding up...polished out dings....need to touch up shiny aluminum now....was thinking paint....i asked if theres another method????

Birchwood Casey makes a cold blue type cover for aluminum called Aluma-Black. It works OK, but is definetly not as durable as anodizing. Most gunshops carry the Aluma-Black and it has worked well for me on small nicks and dings. The color has always more "matched" standard anodizing than paint.
