Hey guys, Just joined and should be getting my P290RS any day now. I haven't shot one yet, but was able to dry fire one a bunch of times at my LGS.

Is there a decent market for accessories for this gun? I'm seeing a fair selection of holsters for the gun, but not with the laser. Also, I haven't seen many places selling mags, grip panels, etc...

Can you point me towards some places that have options for the P290?

For holsters you might google "Robert Mika." He's a retired LA LEO and makes great holsters at very reasonable prices. I have one on the way from him for my new P290.

I have also been looking grip panels. I saw a press release when the gun was announced showing colored panels - such as silver, pink, brown, tan. I have not seen panels offered anywhere. I guess the panels could be painted with a paint such as Kryon fusion. I have not tried it on a poly gun, but I painted some gray wheel spashguards a flat black with Fusion paint and it held up great to outdoor weather and abuse from gravel and never flaked or peeled.

I also have a P290RS and the only mags I have seen for sale are directly from SIG at $46.00 apiece.

FYI I found, purchased and received both 6 and 8 round mags from Cabela's (online) recently - $44.99 each. The 6 round looks like it's the redesigned one for the RS (I have 1st gen), with the finger grip at the bottom.

I found p290 6 round magazines at Cabelas. They are identical to the magazine that comes with the p290rs. Unfortunately, the price is just under $50. However, $40 from manufacturer plus shipping is about the same. They also carry the 8 round magazines.

I found that loading the p290rs magazine to be very difficult, especially the 6th round. The spring is very strong, more so than other magazines that I have loaded

So, I bought the Uplala 9mm to 45ACP magazine loading device. It works very well, even the 6th round went in easy. The rounds just fall in. It works very well for both single and double stack magazines.

Just got the P290. I think mine is an early model P290 not RS. The mfg date says April 2011. I'm wondering if Sig will upgrade the trigger to the RS and/or if it will be free or if there will be a charge for it.

I have not really looked into the accessories as of yet, I am happy with the stock holster that was sent with it. I am looking to buy the Laser one of these day;s but with the Sig Sights I am in no hurry. This gun must still be pretty new or not liked to well I see all of us that has posted on this post except one are really new to this site. I really like mine though and it is my first Sig. Shoots great.

BTW I just got an 8rnd mag at Cabelas for $40. It doesn't seem to seat as easy as the 6 rnd or 8rnd that came with the gun. I'm not sure what the difference is. The look identical to me except maybe the ones that came with it have been used.
