Mec-Gar P226 Mk25 OEM Magazines

Does anyone have a source for OEM Sig P226 "Mec-Gar made in Italy" dark gray phosphate 15rd mags? The ones that come with the Mk25. I know I can get Mec-Gar's from various sources but would like to get a couple more of the real deal for my Mk25. Thanks,

I've purchased from Exile machine many times, they are a legitimate seller. We already know that Mec-Gar makes Sigs magazines for them. So in response to your comment, the mags linked are marked "Sig Sauer" as opposed to mags marked Mec-Gar. I believe these are the magazines the OP is looking for. I have a handful of "Sig Sauer" magazines that are clearly marked on the edge, Mec-Gar Made in Italy, and they are 100% authentic from Sig, so I don't think there is any reason to doubt the authenticity of the magazines. The only real difference is if the OP is looking for Phosphatized mags, vs blued mags.

it's good to hear that they are selling the real deal.

i've got several mags that say both sig sauer & "made in italy" too, the comment was the info stated made by sig sauer.

thanks for the clarification.

My MK25 came with three 15 rnd mags clearly marked Mec Gar Italy.
SIG will only sell you 15 rnd Checkmmate magazines.
I know of NO source for 15 rnd Mec Gar Magazines as come with the MK25.-Dick

the story (used to be at least) is that MecGar couldn't compete with themselves and the SiG version they made at the time so Mec Gar could sell a slightly different version (usually higher capacity) of the magazine...the same great quality and a slightly better price...

Thanks for the responses. Top Gun is only selling Sig "made in USA". I am awaiting a response from CDNN. I will email Exile but fear that they will be "USA" also. Top Gun says they are receiving only USA/checkmate from Sig. I will just have to spend more weekends at gun shows hoping to run across some used ones.

I just ordered "SIG Factory Phosphate" magazines from CDNN and received the lower quality Checkmate Magazines in the SIG packaging. I have contacted SIG directly to see if the Italian made (Mec Gar) phosphate magazines can still be purchased.

that's why you can't be sure when the add shows, what appears to be sig packaging.

are people really having a lot of problems with the Checkmate made magazines???...I ask because my SiGARMS GSR Revolution STX came with Checkmate 8 rounders in late 2006 and other than what I perceived as weak magazine springs (I changed my spring and follower with Tripp Research CobraMag conversion kits making them ultra reliable 7 rounders) they appear fine.

I know the US Government used Checkmate to make magazines on their M9 pistol and there were issues reported but I believe that was traced to improper spec'ing of the magazines by the Government...

I'm a long time SiG fan and remember when the MecGar mags were thought of as cheap replacements for the original German mad magazines of the 1980s...just wondering if this might be more of the same...

many posts on this & other sites reflect a lot of problems that go away with mecgars.

you're one of few with no problems.

thanks bearone...as I only had them with the 1911 pattern pistol from SiG I wasn't aware of all the issues...I can say for sure that the MecGars are very high quality...disappointed to hear that an American company like Checkmate would not make a quality product...

Just to add a little more the this, the problems that I've read about with the checkmate mags were mostly P226 and P229 mags. I don't recall reading about too many issues with their 1911 mags.
