Hey All,
newbie to the forum, but certainly not to firearms!
I just won a GB auction on a NIB Sig P220 compact....
for the low price of 625. delivered!
Yes, that's right, $625. delivered for a new-in-box P220 compact SAS.

The seller evidently got a great deal on Sigs at the SHOT Show, and for some reason, nobody was noticing this auction!
I was sweating bullets as the timer counted down, worried that someone was lurking and waiting to pounce, but......

I will post pics and do a review as soon as I take delivery!
I already ordered an IWB holster from TT Gunleather, as well as an extra magazine and a floorplate for a 245 magazine (doesn't protrude as much) and some Enos Slide Glide.........

Anyone else carry a 245 or 220 compact?

I know, right?
I keep having to recheck to make sure it's not a blemished version, or used, or that the guy is trying to get rid of a problem gun!

I have not found a 220 compact for less than 799ish online....and most are 850+, (unless you are talking about that run of SAO w/beavertail) so...

Yes, I am so happy! Been wanting a 245 or 220 compact for a few years now, but couldn't justify the cost vs Glock or Springfield, etc...

I will post pics galore and full reviews, in good time.

I wish Sig would make a lightweight compact gun maybe an alloy slide... something in between a 225 and a 938

Sig came in today!
Sorry, no pics yet....

Initial impressions: Quality build, solid, tight, serious.

Has the steel guide rod (heard that some were coming with plastic now)
love the SAS "melt job" and the flat black finish (seems flatter black than my Sigs of old?)
Heavy and thick.....(used to a subcompact Glock for carry weapon)

I put the magazine baseplate from a P245 on a magazine, and it is a better fit for my somewhat slender hands, so I will carry with the 245 baseplate, and leave the 220 baseplates on my backup/reload mags.

Pics to come, range report, carry report, leather report, ammo choices report....and more to follow!

I agree, very comfortable is the truth!

My Glock 26 carried easier, in that it was lighter and shorter grip.
BUT...
I was forever trying to find the "perfect" gripping method, because it had all the ergonomics of a......Brick!

But, it's great to be back to Sig, and the P220 compact has a perfect feel for my hand. When I pick it up and point it, it just feels natural.
Fits my hand perfectly, and my trigger reach and alignment in my hand is effort-free.

The short trigger and short trigger reset are perfect for this chunky model!
Some have said that they prefer the "normal" trigger, but for me, the rather thick grip on the 220 lends itself well to the concept of shorter triggers.

And the trigger reset is SUPER short! Cannot wait to get to the range.
The Leather IWB holster I have it EXTREMELY tight, and so I am wearing it around the house (and out to do laundry in a few moments) in an effort to loosen it up. The last TT Gunleather I had was the same way, and after 3 or 4 days, the fit becomes perfect.

More to come, soon!

many of us had to go the other route with our P245s and get the P220 Compact magazine floor plate for that scosh more room for the finger...try to find some standard P220 8 round magazines ( SiG, MecGar or ACT) with the XGrip...it will allow you to use 8 rounders in your Compact (for reloads) and the XGrip will take up the space beyond the frame...make it feel like a P220 Carry...

Hey Silversport,
thanks for the tip regarding magazines.

I never like the "sleeve" thingees that help make a longer magazine "fit" better in a shorter grip frame.

Instead, I just get the higher capacity (longer) mags and shoot them as is.

Still waiting for my first range trip with the 220 compact.....
Sad day when I man cannot make time to shoot a new Sig!
