Best Condition P6/P225 Sigs for Sale? And Holsters?

Just picked up a CPO 229 and now I'm on the lookout for a P6. I would like a P225, but unfortunately California doesn't have that particular gun approvaed for sale by dealers.

I've been looking around many retailers (Centirefire, Dan's Sporting Goods, Wideners [Doesn't Ship to CA]) and wanted to know which retailer had the best condition Sig P6 with the most extras?

The LGS was going to order a P6 for $430 or for, $460 I can choose a better conditioned one from their distributors, Acu-Sport. Acu-sport comes with original case, extra magazine, and holster.

Anyone have any exp with Acu-Sport or any other retailer that sells surplus P6s?

On a side note, I've found two different makers of the holsters. One is stamped Akah and the other Kripo? What are the differences between the two?

I would never buy a gun from a "batch" unless I could see the exact one I was getting. Otherwise, people on this forum and others have reported hits as well as misses--you just don't know what you're going to get.

Hello,

I just recently purchased a P6 and I live in CA. I found the P6 on Gunbroker. It was nice to actually be able to see it before I purchased. There are two companies that import P6's: PW Arms, and Century Arms. Only the PW Arms imported P6's are on the CA approved handgun list, and their approval expires in 2/13. They may or may not be renewed. With this info in hand, if you really want one, you better get one fast. There are tons of P6's on Gunbroker, but all seem to be imported by Century Arms. It took me a few weeks of looking to find a PW Arms imported one from a dealer who was actually willing to sell to CA and jump through the silly hoops. Since my purchase I have maybe seen 2 or 3 for sale that were CA compliant. Good luck with your search.

Mine was an 11/81 production. It was in fantastic shape, with minimal barrel wear. I ended up purchasing a newer P225 barrel (with new ramp angle), and just purchased all new internals (trigger, hammer, decocker, hammer strut, all springs, etc. . .) to essentially convert it to a P225. I will soon refinish it in matte hard chrome and reassemble. It should be better than new when I'm finished.

Dan's Sporting Goods Firearms Page

I got my project P6 from Dan's and it came in fantastic shape as is. Not much sign of use and barely any holster wear. I should have picked more of a beater to work on getting refinished and everything.

But it came out nice!

I mentioned I was a member of Sigtalk to Dan and he gave me free shipping so that was a plus.

Hope that helps

Looks nice. What are you going to refinish it with? Going to do it yourself? Sounds like something I may want to try.

I didn't refinish it myself, I sent it to Twisted Firearms LLC in Oregon and they did it for me.

Parkerized with magnesium phosphate and Cerakoted by Twisted Firearms LLC out of Oregon.

If you guys want details on my complete build, here's my old post.

Sig P6 Project Complete!!!!

But I will say I REALLY want to work on another P6 and refinish it myself using bluing salts. Check this guy out guys...

I think it turned out amazing lol... I'm pretty jelly
