I saw a post in the last couple of days where someone mentioned that their new p229 came with 13 round mags. Are the new P229 coming with flush 13 round mags that anyone know?
i believe the basic model is supposed to come with the new 229-1 frame, which comes with the 15 round mags for the wider (40/357) style frame. Looking at sigs website, it looks as if some models still are available with the old p229 frame and i would imagine those would come with the older 13 round mags. I also saw a thread, maybe on ar15.com, which states one way to tell the difference in 229-1/e2 grip type models by looking at the slide serrations (full serrations) and the extractor (new style is long).
You can also get 15-round Mec-Gar flush-fit magazines to fit the original P229. They are identical in function to the 13-round SIG mags that are made by Mec-Gar.
I edited my original post. So this is only impacting the 9mm P229, not the .40/357 P229 is what I am understanding. So no changes to the capacity of the .40/357 P229?
No, the .40/.357 229s still come with 12 round mags.
