On another gun forum I found this post:

"The Mosquito comes with a card that states...

"Like all .22 caliber pistols, your new Mosquito can be sensitive to ammo quality.

You should know that your pistol has been successfully tested with CCI Mini-Mags."

I would imagine that the Sig .22 conversion kits come with a similar statement."

My question is, does SIG .22 kit come with a card or any documentation that has that statement? There's no way for me to find out and if he's incorrect, I'd like to set the record straight.

Aslo, does the Mosquito really come with that statement on a card?

Thanks!

Yeah, it does . But once its broken in it'll run on the cheap stuff. The break in time is diffrent for each Skeeter.

I just keep using the CCI Mini-Mags.

And love it. I have the P250 and thought the exchange kits would be cool but after buying one kit I realized I want the whole gun not a bunch of kits laying around.

That was my thinking behind the Mosquito. I actually shoot more rounds through this than anything other Sig.

Okay! i figured as much.

In my experience, most .22 semi's have a break-in period. Now, my Beretta 21 which is well used, will have failure to eject if I don't use CCI...

Mini mags are reccomended for break in quite often - I can check the 22 kits I have in stock but I'd imagine they say something similar.

Once you put a few hundred mini mags through the kit, it runs fine on bulk pack. The mini mags seem to take the sharp edges off nicely.

I've run ~250 or so rounds of CCI Mini Mag through my P226 .22 conversion kit. The first 100 rounds were REALLY rough, either FTF or FTE on every other round... I was initially really worried, but I knew there was a break-in so I kept at it. The improvement has been dramatic, and at this point it might have some sort of issue on one round out of 20 or 30 and performance is continuing to improve. Overall I love the thing, just give it some time and a few hundred rounds.

I have a Mosquito and it is a jamomatic. It shoots almost flawlessly with CCI Mini Mags. I have fired over 500 rounds through the Mosquito, and I see that it is now less temperamental with the non-CCI Mini Mag High Velocity 22 ammo. However, the accuracy of the Mosquito is not as accurate as its centerfire big brothers.

I've never used a 22 conversion kit, so I cannot comment on it. But in my opinion, I think I would rather spend the money on a Ruger Mk III than to invest in a 22 conversion kit.

Thanks Allen, my plan is to run CCI for a while! I just am really excited about the SIG - it fits my hand like a glove, whereas the Glock (2nd Gen) has never been fully comfortable. I like the thought of using my new gun for hours at .22 LR prices and then, in seconds, it's 45.
