Aftermkt grips P938

Hey does anyone make aftermarket grips for the P938? I have the Extreme and i like the grips mine has on it, but, i love customization, and would like to see what (if anything) is available for this gun to make it slightly more personalized.

i cant find anything just doing random searches, but i'm still new to the sig community, maybe you guys know some resources??

thx

oh.. by the way... i'm not talking about the dumb wrap around rubber crappy grip things that make the gun wider and harder to get out of your pocket (holster), i mean direct replacements for what i have specifically molded for this gun. either various types of wood or poly whatever or fiberglass or carbon fiber or whatever.... anything.

thx

yeah i saw that guys grips. they are great quality for sure!!! and he has all sorts of different wood options.

I guess the only problem i have is that the "cheaper models" (don't take that expression to heart!!!!) of this gun have wood grips from the factory. I opted for the more expensive "Extreme" model which has the gator grips, which i think are a lot cooler, so i was thinking maybe since this is more of a tactical service weapon, that carbon fiber, or acrylic, or aluminum grips may be a cool upgrade, instead of making it look like a "lower" model (again pardon the expression. i understand the extreme is no better than the other models, just upgraded appearance package and 1 extra round in an extended mag with a finger holder thing)

Not to mention, if it's wood, i could make it in my shop for the cost of wood and the patience of labor. but.. It's not outside of my realm of knowledge and capability to make wood grips rather than buying for $80. But carbon fiber, or a CNC milled aluminum grip? that's considerably more costly and i'd rather buy them from a mass producer for a much more reasonable price than designing, doing the cad, and the cam, and paying someone to mill them for me. But that may be my best option.

I could make them myself out of carbon fiber and use my existing grips to make a mold from, but then of course i wouldn't be able to sell them because they have the brand logo on them, which i do not have licensing rights to, but.. could make for myself anyway...

I just really prefer not to have to spend time making something if i can buy it, and it's a good upgrade for a tactical weapon to make it uniquely mine, or not -as- common anyhow.

so that's kinda where i'm at.

the "basic google search" didn't help me much when i did it except for the rubber wrap around grips and this guy's wood ones. I figured maybe you guys knew of a place that's maybe a little more off the beaten path of top 5 or 10 google search results, that would take me much longer to happen upon on my own.

Ebay has tons of aftermarket grips. You can literally spend hours looking through it all.

Jon Makes THE best Grips in quality exotic woods. the jig cut required by the 938 makes it very unlikely others will attempt this, hence the limited choices.
Jon has made 3 pairs for me and each one is more beautiful than the next.
You won't be disappointed!
Tell him "Jersey" Sent you!......... He'll charge you more! lol

Hogue G10 grips are machined from laminated fiberglass. Very nice option with several colors to choose from. I noticed that their web site shows models available for the 938 but no pictures; check the options for say a 229 to see what the colors and textures are.

Really?
Which brand is seller. There are three or more Types on ebay. I'm guessing its the plastic printed versions.

Btw, cool that the woodworker guy can't keep up with demand, his websight offerings on the 938 dwindle every day and a out to nothing. Good Christmas for him.

yeah, the wood grips look awesome, and i'm sure are an amazing quality, i've watched the videos and everything, and everything leads me to believe they are above par in every way, but, i'm in my early 30's and like the tactical look over a classic 1911 look. If i get a 1911, i'll do the wood grips.

Also, I definitely don't want skulls or grim reapers or semi nude women or 8 balls or random crap on my gun. it's tacky, childish, immature, etc, and i think truly shows one's intelligence when they put crap like that... on anything... much less a gun. i hate seeing people ride around on motorcycles with skulls all over them. skulllls.. deeeeeatth... cooooooollll....

and like one of the posters said, it could come back to bite you, not to mention its just... not my style..

HAHA.. i know.. i'll get grips that say "REMEMBER WACO! 666 ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT BUSH+911" on one side, then the free mason symbol, the all seeing eye and a picture of Hitler engraved on the other... if that won't keep me out of prison, i don't know what will.

but.. if i could have someone make a pair of those acrylic grips and put my company logo on them or something, that would be cool.

20121212_003218.jpg

but... i have the capability of making them just as easy, but will cost more than buying someone else's grips who make them in bulk.

But, I can make them out of carbon fiber, aluminum, acrylic or whatever. just.. not as cheaply for a one off. I'd have to sell several of them to break even, which isn't something i necessarily planned to get into. But.. considering what's on the market currently? i just may.

Long story short though, i just haven't found what i'm looking for, even the best of the best manufacturer's don't have what i (and i think a lot of other people) would consider quintessentially -cool-. sleek. s3xy and modern.

G10 is pretty close, but a lot of their stuff reminds me of 70's 80's semi autos or cold war era russian small arms or something.

out dated, and doesn't really fit on a brand new, technologically advanced, precision weapon imho.

One of these day's, when this thread is a dinosaur, i'll do a bit of archeology, dig it up and post a photo of some of the grips i made. and consider selling them. but... if i'm going to have to go through all of the hassle of doing that, it won't be any time in the near future. i'd rather keep looking to see if i find what i'm really looking for for a while, and just enjoy my gun as is.
