| P226 West German Slide Replacement
I recently purchased a 1995 German Sig P226 non rail in 9mm. Can I replace the slide with a newer 'stainless steel' slide; or one from a Sig caliber X-Change kit? A really nice Gun but I want to do some personal touches like night sights, newer grips, etc... It came with two 10 round mags (ban era?); are the current magazines compatable with German Sigs? Thanks .....

| Help Please!!!
Anybody? Need some help with answers as to what mags will fit/work with my German Sig 226? And will newer Slide fit and function on my frame ( I want to add night sights and shoot a spare barrel so as to perserve my origional ones.) Thanks..... mark

add night sights if you like, add some Mec-Gar mags (high capacity if you are allowed) and change the grip panels but leave the slide alone...and enjoy...you have a fine firearm...enjoy it as it is or trade it off for the one you really want... Bill |

Thanks for replies. I Plan on keeping it for the long run. I do not want to do any perminate mods to gun and any thing done will be undoable, as all original parts will be retained. Thanks again. mark
