New SIG 2022

New SP2022:

First 150 rounds down range were flawless! Love this baby! Was a little iffy about the long trigger pull at first but it grew on me quickly. Everything was smooth and accurate! I ended up with a 6” grouping my first 10 rounds.
Shot several 9mm's side by side, including the Glock 19, Kahr CW9 and the M&P Smith and Wesson. All I have to say is I feel like my choice was the right one for me.

Yup, you can't go wrong with a 2022. Very good choice.

Sig Sp2022

The 2022 fits my hand like it was custom made. I have over 800rds through it without one single issue. Out of all the pistols I've shot in the past, the 2022 is the most accurate for me. I would never get rid of it, Love it toooo much!!

Bought one last month. No complaints!

(except no time to get to the range).

Great choice. I just bought one this past weekend. I get to shoot it for the first time this weekend so I'm looking forward to it.

I bought my SP2022 in October of 2012 and have put around 1200-1500 rounds through it so far without a single malfunction.

This is a damned good weapon that feels very well balanced in my hand, very natural and comfortable to me.

At 25 meters at my local range, I can get reasonable groupings around 6-8", at 15 meters that tightens up to 3-4" groups. Anything closer and I'm putting 14 out of 15 rounds dead center, with many hitting the exact same holes dead center (2-5 rounds, anyway).

I love Sig Sauer, they make some of the best weapons in the world IMHO. They are rock solid, and with proper cleaning and maintenance (which is super easy to break down and put back together again!).

FYI, my SP2022 is the 9mm Parabellum version, which makes ammo slightly less expensive and (usually) more readily available. Of course, at this time, ammo is hard to find. That will change soon I think. Either it will be well stocked everywhere again, or else you won't find ammo at all if Obama gets his way.

My SP2022, extra mags, Blackhawk Lvl II holster

As are spare magazines! Even tougher in CA with a 10 limit.

I just picked up the 2 spare 15-round mags last week after trying very hard to get them for the past 3 months since I originally purchased the weapon.

My original intent was to have one mag loaded with a more premium round for home defense at all times and to use the other 2 for the range, but I will probably pick up another mag or two and keep one unloaded and in the weapon at all times to help reduce dust contamination. Even though the gun stays in its Pelican iM2050 travel case all of the time when not in use, I like the idea of an unloaded mag staying in the pistol.

As far the 'more mags' idea, I just like to maximize my range time and not waste it constantly reloading.

I was also consideing picking up the Maglula UpLULA Pistol Magazine Loader from Midway USA to expedite loading (see pic and link below):

LINK TO DESCRIPTION

Anybody here have any experience with or knowledge of this device?
It appears to be a lot more solidly made than most of the similar devices I have seen on the market so far.

Any input and advice on that loader would be appreciated.

The Uplula mag loader is a must have in your range bag.
I own one and it is a real thumb saver.

Those loaders work really good. I bought one a while back. Havent really uses it too much but when I did it saved time, and fingers

Uplula is a requirement for any of my range session. Works very well and saves my thumb especially with new mags

Yep. I have one too. Since I have only 3 mags (@ 10 rnds ea), it really helps to speed things up.

Uplula mag loader is great! Not only does it save your thumbs, it keeps me from looking like a dufus fumbling around with the ammo and mags on the shooting bench.

SP2022 is a great little pistol. We dig ours.

Thanks for the input, guys. I really appreciate your insights.

Yeah, I love my SP2022 and have been thinking of adding a 1911 or similar .45 cal pistol to my personal arsenal.

+1 for the Uplua. The only downside I've found is the higher "burn rate" on ammo that you can achieve using one.

Scot I was fortunate enough to try out Kimber's 1911 Pro Carry. I fell in love with it.

It will be a close contender with the EMP for my carry

If you're looking for a 1911, check out Springfield Armory. Their Loaded models are under $1k and have a ton of great features. They have a lifetime warranty and have Customer Service pretty much beyond reproach. The Sig 1911's are feature laden as well. Just have to recognize the differences between the Sig's and the traditional 1911's.

I suggest a full-size 1911.

Have fun shooting, hunting (for a 1911) and be safe!
