1911 stx

Until very recently I have only had a P220. I just won a new Sig Sauer 1911 STX from gunbroker with 3 magazines and a Sig paddle holster. Got it for $929.00 But, I was just wanderin how the people that do own them like them and maybe what they don't so much like about them. I will never ever sell my P220 but, I, must say I am pretty darn stoked about this STX! Thx guys....

LOL....I would imagine so. Thx for the congrats. This will be my first 1911. From what I understand the early Sig 1911's were made with no MIM parts. But, I also understand they are really still made that way as well. I hear that the Sig 1911 is truly the best value a man can get in a new 1911. Like a Kimber or better for less money.

Sig will cover you for life on it. Kimber will for a year.
The only other 1911 I will consider now is Springfield who also warrenties for life.
My only 1911 now is a Springer Compact made mid 90s and I will never part with it.
Several trades ago I had a Sig C3 Compact that I should have hung on to.
Very sweet 1911.
Good luck with it.

Congrats on your new stx. From another stx owner the problems I have with the gun is it has a problem feeding 185gr lawman Speer round nose flat point and the trigger has excessive play up and down and left and right causing a gritty feeling trigger pull. I called sig and props to them they told me to send it back at no cost so I'll see what happens when I get it back.

i just signed papers on an STX last week. Sitting though the CA 10 day cool down period now. I paid a bit more for mine but 1911's are scarce right now so i probably paid too much. Hope its not a lemon. Please post any range reports. thanks.

Holster info

Hey man, congrats on the gun. I bought one a few days ago and wow!!! phenomenally accurate. I put about 500 through it and it was flawless. I mean flawless! A tack driver at 50 yards and a blast to shoot. Smoothest trigger and slide I've ever felt. I am curious though about your holster. I am looking for a nice leather OWB Right hand. I want leather to protect that pretty finish and I live in an open carry state so I have no need to conceal (its pretty large to be concealing anyhow). Can you give me a detailed review of the holster? Maybe post a photo? And where I can get one as well. I would rather not have to have it custom made, as I don't want to wait the 2 months it will take to arrive. The problem I keep running into is that all the Sig 1911 holsters are made for a rail gun. I want a good tight fit as I'll be carrying it often. Thanks for the help!

Congrats on your new sidearm! 1911's are an instant addiction, I won't own any other style handgun personally

dwg13013, STI 1911's have a lifetime warranty as well (it follows the gun, not the owner) so if you trade it to your brother, who sells it to his friend that gives it to his son, that sells it to a gun shop and you buy it back it's still covered

I get my Match Elite 1911 Wednesday. In the 1911 world the SIGs seem to offer a lot for the money. Looking forward to taking it for a spin.
