Sig P220-45 help

Greetings ~

I'm hoping someone can help me with this Sig. It has a letter from Sig stating its limited to 200. I took it to a local dealer to see if they could provide some information and a value but they couldn't tell me anything either. They couldn't even find it in the book. I cannot find any information online about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here are two pictures. Since I'm new to this, let me know if you need more info...

Thanks!

I'm not certain, but it is a Switzerland marking on it. I'm not certain if this is some sort of ceremonial pistol that was meant as a gift or retirement ornament or what.

I'd suggest you call SIG.

Are there any other kind of markings on the frame or slide? If so, could you post pictures of them?

The right side of slide says "P220" w/"made in W. Germany" on it. It looks like there might be some sort of symbol next to the serial number on the frame. However, I cannot figure it out.

The left side of the slide says "SigSauer" and "Sigarms Inc" w/"Exeter-NH" below it. I do not see any other markings on this side.

I just noticed there are several small markings on the bottom of the barrel in front. I cannot tell what they are even with a magnifying glass. It does look like there is an "N" and some symbol that looks like a "bug" among others.

More pictures...its a little difficult to take decent ones. Hope these help.

Thanks!

The box says "P22045LTD" with the serial number on the side. It also has P220-1 on the side.

The Sig letter states it is limited edition of 200 and all workmanship is factory authorized and produced. The letter is dated 1995. Whatever that is worth...

I'll give them a call this week - good idea!

Thanks!

Special edition requisitioned by Lew Horton...my brother has one...nice looking P220 that I wouldn't pay extra for but perhaps a collector might (but then I paid extra for a special engraved slide SiG Pro SP2009)......bright polished blue and should have all gold plated controls...I think it came with wood stocks but can't be sure I'm recalling correctly...

I believe a member of this Forum also has one of these...

The hammer suggests its pre 1993. What is the 2 letter stamping under the gun ? Mine is KE which translates to 1994. KC would be 1993 KB 1992 etc,etc....
Its right be low the little "N" looking mark.

The two letter stamp looks like "KD"

Does anyone have an idea of what these originally sold for and what it might be worth now?

Thanks!

...these Lew Horton models sold for $850.00 new in 1994 (they should be 1993 model, W. German marked pistols with the old spur hammer)...Lew requisitions special firearm variants from time to time...

they should have bright blue polished slides with gold accents...an interesting aside is that all of the 200 (although I have read where only 80 models were finished so who knows? ) or so are not the same...some are missing some of the gold accented parts and that IS the way they came...no Nills stocks or anything...just a fancy looking 1993 vintage P220 in .45ACP...

[I]following response courtesy of Flotown50 and iowa_hawkeyes on AR15.com:

FINALLY FOUND THE ANSWER: MUCH THANKS TO HAWKEYES. I couldn't have done it without your reference.

This is in-fact a 1993 Lew Horton P220 Premium Edition Limited

Only 200 were made.

It was manufactured specifcally by SIG for The Lew Horton Manufacting Company and was sold by Lew Horton in 1994 for $850 plus tax. (no idea what it is worth in todays dollars and they couldnt tell me that)

Thanks again for the help. I would have never found it without that link and I verified everthing with them over the phone.

It is a nice 20 year old Sig, unique, and certainly worth keeping. Did you buy it recently. I can't quite read between the lines of what you told us, but whatever you paid for it is the least I would think you should get as for value. Just a suggestion, but be careful storing that Sig in that case, you never know what chemicals or substances have rubbed off on the foam, it could react to the gold plating and ruin the pieces given time.

I shamelessly bumped this 10 month old thread as I may be an owner of one of these in a couple of weeks...you're right...just a fancy P220 but it will have all the goodness of a P220 baked right in so that will make it worth it...the polished blue and gold are not my favorite things but they do make for a rarely seen P220 wouldn't you say?...
