P250 Sub Compact 9mm for beginners

I took my daughter shooting this past weekend, she did fine BUT she did have issues with the DA/SA trigger pull.

I'm thinking of buying a P250 SC 9mm for both the Wife and Daughter to practice on, mostly for the less confusing consistent trigger pull.

How is the quality of the latest P250's? Is it up to par with the SP2022?

Is it Glock or XD durable?

Thanks in advance

Have a P250C which has been very reliable thru about 2300 rounds; zero malfunctions. It's a very simple autoloader to operate and maintain. The trigger is DAO so each pull is the same. It's very smooth but very long.

I chose it as my first handgun because of it's simplicity. I made the mistake of racking the slide on a P239 at my LGS and was bitten by the classic P-series design. Now I also have a P229 DA/SA.

The trigger on my P250SC is the reason I own it. I'm usually not fond of DAO, but since I met the P250, now I'm hooked. I often help new shooters, and use the 250 as an intro. The smooth, consistent, and predictable nature of the 250 trigger can be a big help for a new shooter. In your case there might also be a benefit for them in using the short trigger in the 250. It's slightly thinner, and smaller hands get a better pull on it. I'm with you on the "NO Glock" thing. Most Glock owners I have known have waaay to many complaints for me to ever even consider such a thing. I have worked on more than a few, and the lack of quality was very apparent. I'm sure there are Glock fans that will disagree, but that does not mean jack to me when I need to depend on it for defense. If someone gave me one I would use it for a range "toy", but that is all it's good for to me. Just my 2 cents, YMMV.

I also have the p250c and so far zero issues. Very little recoil an very accurate. I also liked the fact that I could convert it to a sub compact version for carrying.

Im a beginner and would highly recommend it as a beginners pistol.

So this looks like a great pistol for my Wife and Daughter to get some trigger time without having to deal with SA/DA issues.

The 2 different pulls can be confusing for a newbie.

I recently bought a P250F .40s&w and the Caliber X-Change kit in P250C .45acp. These are my first real handguns and I love them. The DAO trigger for me is super smooth and the long pull gives me a little more time to breathe right and get my stance before I shoot at the range. Switching from P250F to P250C is really easy and I usually take both calibers to the range at the same time, swapping the FCU in only 30-45secs or so...I am getting faster the more I do the switch. Quality is top notch - no FTF/FTE with JHP or FMJ from Blazer, CCI, Speer, American Eagle, etc.

I like them so much I may apply for my CCW here in DE....Carry ? I'd choose the P250C as it still has the picatanny rail.

For smaller hands, the 250sc is probably a great pistol. I have one, but my pinky is left hanging off the bottom of the grip. Easily rectified, providing you can find a 15 rnd mag and the X-ring for it.
