Newbie, New P938 Sport and a question

So I've added a new breed to my stable of Rugers, Brownings & C&R Handguns
Just got home with my P938 Sport and dying to get to the range this weekend

This model has the front TFO sight and I'm curious if they normally sit this high off the slide? (sorry for the shaky picture, you can see the wood table top between the sight and slide)

And the required pic of the rest of it

Don't know how normal it is, but I have seen several posted here in the past.
Welcome to Sig.

Yep, that's how they make it. It was one reason why I was cautious about the Equinox when I was buying. As it turned out I ended up with the Blackwood and am certainly pleased.

I bought one of these TruGlo/Tritium sights from Sig for my 938 and installed it. Mine sits lower than yours but I haven't seen many up close. I need the fiber optic during the day at the range and appreciate the tritium in the dark. I pretty unique sight, I see TruGlo is also making this type of sights for shotguns now.

My P938 Tru Glo front sight looks the same as yours. Sweet little pistol. The store I was in had four different models of the P938. They all had a price of $769 to $799 except the sport. It was under $600 out the door cash. The sport was also the only P938 model at the store that had an extra magazine. It came with the 6rd and 7rd extended. The build date on mine is March 10, 2013. I have not shot it as of yet.

What model 938 is that? It looks like a mix between a Nightmare (silver safety and slide lock) with the black rubber grip model grips.

Yes it's the Sport, I haven't seen it on the Sig website (at least not for the 938)

Still can't figure why this model is 150-250 cheaper than the other models, especially with it coming with 2 mags when most of the others only come with 1

Hit the range with her today, 200 rounds and ran flawlessly except towards the end it failed to go completely into battery once.
No explanation for it, wasn't a double feed or stove pipe or anything else I could tell.
Sights are dead on (unfortunately I'm not, ha ha)

Cant wait for the next trip. Need to get some decent grease for the rails. All I have is oil

All in all, Extremely happy!!!!!!!!

when mine gets dirty every so often it will not completely go into battery. i bet it is the same thing. the extractor gets dirty and the round actually misses (jumps ahead) of the extractor thus causing the slide to rest just shy of full battery (extractor resting on the back of the casing)

Mine failed to go into battery once, with premium ammo, but the round was held by the extractor properly. I had just propped the gun on a wooden rail, and was not really gripping it good...i.e. I limp-wristed it.
