I was one of those people, thank Phin! You saved me from paying 5-10 more per box or standing in line for 1-3 hours for the "possibility" of getting 9mm.

3 or 4 weeks ago, I met a guy at academy that showed up at 4:30am HOPING to get an AR that MIGHT be coming in on a shipment.

The Academy stores in the San Antonio area have all had .45 every time I've gone in to look for .40. I was in Selma yesterday and they had at least 12 boxes of 9mm at lunch time and plenty of .45.

Worked for me, I just got my shipment of 500 rounds from Freedom Munitions on Good Friday. $163 shipped to the door.

The Academy stores in Louisiana have been putting out a lot of ammo lately, including 9mm, 40 S&W and 22LR. Palmetto State Armory is a good place to check in the AM. They have held their prices to normal, and if you are diligent you can get it. I think the 22LR crunch is over. The 40 cal is getting pretty good. And yesterday we got WWB 124 grain 9mm at Academy. I don't shoot a ton of ammo at the range, so I have plenty of 115 grain, but I have wanted some 124 grain for quite a while and thought I would not see it again for a long time. I really believe most people have hoarded about all they can stand, and those people looking to profit from it might be on a quick timer.
BTW: Our Academy has moved .380 ammo back to the regular racks. I don't use it, but I know a lot of people have searched long and hard for it.

Gunbot is a great tool to find ammo but greater tool to find the price gougers. When put in list form they stick out like a sore thumb. I'm guessing that the reason the "gougers" have ammo is because not as many buying at there inflated prices.

Fyi... In my part of IN, we can't find 9mm, 22lr, 380, 5.56, 223... basically I can't find anything but shotgun and the lesser used high power stuff. Ironically, one local store has an abundance supply of Blazer brass .45acp. I don't own a .45acp... YET!! As that will be my next hg purchase, I am stocking up on the ammo.

Still plinkin, just shootin' slower...

Going to have to take a little drive out there...I'm off hwy 16 and the ammo at academy around here goes quick. Thanks for the heads up.

Interesting... In my part, we saw it get a little better, then the bottom fell out. No ammo, not even at the ranges. I have 6 LGS and a WalMart that sell ammo and none of them have any pistol or rifle ammo. Three of the LGS are ranges and they don't even have 9mm for shooters or even gun buyers. No wait for range time at this point. Forget about .22LR. Not even sub sonic ammo. It has been this way for about two weeks now. I shop for 9mm, .380, .22LR and .45. I shoot with my stock every weekend and have been rotating between guns depending on what I find. I then shop to replace what I used every week. My gun safe has been taking a hit lately. We have a show this weekend and I can't imagine what the prices are going to be.

I stopped at two different academy stores this morning and they had had 9mm! Waited in line at the first for a few minutes and saw the only two 9mm bricks go to the first two folk in line but I was able to get a box of 9mm and .40S&W. On my way to work I decided to stop at a second academy (~8:25am) and was able to do the same, box of 9mm and box of .40S&W. Guess who'll be at the range this weekend!

I've stopped looking. I'm tired of wasting my time. I'm just going to shoot what I have and restock after the craziness dies down.

Here in Pennsylvania, ranges won't sell you more than 1 box of 9mm (for $15/50). I don't have the patience to wait at Wally World for the ammo case to be restocked. Cabela's has been pretty good with online ordering and rationing but I hate having to pay sales tax and shipping.

I also noticed Freedom Munitions upped their prices by ~$30/500 and ~$60/1000. They sell out absurdly fast -- so fast that their website often becomes unresponsive. Forget the Slashdot Effect, welcome to the Ammo Effect

.
yesterday, local WMT, the last three 50rd boxes of Federal 115gr 9mm

this morning Wife and I stopped at a further distance away WMT, we each got three 100rd boxes of WWB 115gr 9mm (they also had .40 & .45 but I've got that - no .22lr - sold early)

750rds in 2 days - not bad - now have enough for guests who'll be visiting

UPDATED 4 Apr - got three 100rd boxes of WWB .380 at local WMT this morning (they also had WWB .40cal and lots of that junk, tulammo in 9mm, .40 & .45 - I'd rather not shoot than use that stuff !)

1050rds in 3 days

I saw 100 round 9mm Winchester packs at my LGS for the first time in the 3 months I've been checking the other day, and they also had 50 packs. (This is in northern CA) - 1 box limit unless you buy a gun and then its a 2 box limit.

No .22lr in stock locally, but I keep Gunbot open and listen for the beep.

I'm having good luck with gunbot. I just sent for 5 boxes of 100 round Winchester .40 for $38 each (Cabelas). I hate paying shipping but would hate more to go to the range and have none.
