Just got a new Sig 1911-22, to add to my Sigs. Haven't been to the range yet, just fired into backstop. I like the adjustable rear sight & replaceable front sight. Also put a P290 on lay-away, as my dealer had one in stock.

The range where I shoot had one of these. Please let us know how it preforms for you at the range. I am curious. Do the instructions say you have to use a specific type of 22 ammo such as mini-mags or can you fire bulk brick ammo too? |

Here is a picture I hope. The maual only says to use high quality factory ammo, when I test fired it into the backstop I shot 3 clips of 10 Remington bulk 22lr with no malfunctions. I will know more when I get to the range. The trigger pull is real clean & crisp. Field stripping is not the way I remember for a 1911. ( my Chiapa 1911-22 is like I remember). The Chiapa does not have a grip safety. The Sig looks and feels like a 1911. I am going to send the Chiapa 1911-22 to my grandson in Alaska.

Cabinet-Cruncher, How did things go at the range? I've been looking for an objective review of the Sig 1911-22 and can't seem to find much more then sales pitches and how much like a 1911 it is as far as looks and feels. How does it handle at the range? Does it eat up the bulk ammo or did you have to upgrade to something slightly more expensive? | |
