Been down this road, already picked up a X5 Light Weight. I have the chance to pick up either the X5 Tactical or X5 All Around. The All Around I know is SA/DA where as the Tactical is SA only. Opinions again!!!

if i were to get an x5 it would be the all around to compliment the rest of my sig fleet, so it depends if you want to mix/match.

how much on the a a?
i saw one a month ago go for $1379 on gb & now same vendor, $2099 with "0" bids.

That was a tough decision for me. But, I chose the Tactical.

I like the aluminum frame weighing in @35oz compared to

47oz. (Both empty) I also liked the idea of the rail.

But, I would have been just as happy with the all around.

Any x5 is capable of delivering under 2" groups at 50yrds.

After shooting the x5 Tactical I truly believe it.

I also like the fixed night sights compared to the adj match sights

Its bssically just personal preferences imo.

Rest assuredly that any x5 you get you will certainly be satisfied.

I shot mine again at the range today. They are just wonderful pistols.

Good luck on your decision and I really look forward to seeing what you do choose.

Whats the deal on the P226X5 Allround?

I've seen them for sale with 10 rd clips. They are listed on the Sig site with a 17rd clips (9mm)

I'm restricted to 10 rds in Ct. Same magwell on all P226X5's and the ability to run either mags? I'm guessing the mag is plugged for certain state compliance?

Anyone ever shot and compared the X5 vs the Stainless Elite in P226 or P220 or Elite Stainless?

Similiar weight and I like the night sites on both the Elites.

My X5 AR came with 10-rd magazines (I am in CA). The AR (and Tactical model) is on the lower end of the X5 spectrum and does not come with the magwell. In addition, they do not come with X5 magazines (the ones with the silver basepads). Standard P226 mags with work with both the AR and the Tactical. I have not seen any 10-rd X5 magazines (The ones with the silver basepad).

Any X5 that has the maxwell comes with the fancy aluminum base magazines. Any 226 9mm magazine will fit any 226 X5. I have the light weight 9mm, juts not in my possession just yet. Also, even the Entry level X5 should be better than let's say.... A 226 elite dark or is that a myth? From what I can tell from images and research, the x5 recoil system is much different than the elites. Same with the trigger group. The all around is also SA/DA where the tactical x5 is just single action. Since I have yet to fire and x5 and since I already have one (almost, just not delivered yet) which 226 should I pick up next?
X5 AA
X5 tactical
Elite Dark?
All 9 mm

Just want a few more opinions.

It really depends on your purpose/intent of the purchase. But for the most part, I'd vote for none of the above. The X5LW (an L1 model) has all of the "upgrades" of the the All Round and the Tactical, so I don't see why you'd want another X5. You might argue that you'd like to have a DA/SA model, in which case, the All Round is that. But no reason for a Tactical. All of the Elite models are a step down from the X5 line, so unless you plan on carrying or duty use, I wouldn't recommend them.

In the end, I'd nominate that you opt for an X6 in 9mm, as that would be the only "upgrade" you can make. Or maybe a P210 Target Legend in 9mm.

From what Ive read of guys that have most x models tend to say the competition model is a good comprimise. Personally, I want the full bull Level next.
That adjustable trigger system is so awesome.
Ive shot an early 90's model triple stamped W German P226
and imo the x5 is in a different league. Just my opinion.

210 would be nice as would an X6 in 9mm but after spending $2K on the Light Weight I only have about $1800 or so left. I know, it could be worse. I could be stuck with a Glock or something but here's my chance to own a couple real nice pistols!
X5 it is, just to decide between the tactical, competition or all around.

X6 has the longer barrel correct?

#15 ·
Yes, the X6 has a 6" barrel. I'd save up a bit for an X6 or a P210. The X5LW is essentially the same gun as the Competition and the Tactical. Matter of fact, your X5LW is a step up from both of those models. So I see no reason why you'd want either of those models. And the only reason you should even consider the All Round is if you really want something DA/SA. Otherwise, I see no reason for that either. Just my $0.02.

Ive seen x6's go cheaper than x5's.

The x6 is a whole lot a gun. If I were you I'd go for the Tactical and just be done with it.

But, like the man said application is EVERYTHING.

From what I see you just want another x5 and I dont blame ya!

I do too. IMO, if you really wanna bear down and do some competition shooting then get an x6

or use your Level 1 LW or if you want a mutipurpose one the Tactical would be hard to beat

IMO what with the rail and night sights. Not to mention it being light weight as well.
