Where can a guy go to buy some ballistic gelatin to test different ammo on. I used a Federal Hydra-Shok 9mm 115grain through a 55 gallon drum of water and into a plastic pallet and recovered the bullet off the ground and it didn't even open up. I bought some Gold Dots as well but couldn't find the remains, they may have mushroomed out, I'm not sure. Does anyone have a particular favorite bullet they like more than others. I want something that will be effective if I should ever need it.
There are many Youtube videos that show actual comparisons using Ballistic gelatin. I have watched many hours of them and chose the Hornady Critical Duty 135gr in 9mm as my carry choice.
Federal Hydra shock was not one of my favorites based on the test results.
There are several types of carry ammo that did quite well but availability seems to be a big factor when choosing.
