Thanks. Its a Samson rail. Got it from optics planet. $300 and some change. I can't stand the play in the factory handguards from Sig. Its super tight though no movement what so ever. I thought about sending my rifle to SIG to have there quad rail installed because it allows you to lock the side folding stock but I talked to the Samson rep and he told me that the holes are already drilled in there rail for the lug that the stock locks to but they haven't started selling the actual lug itself. He said it would be available in the near future. So that pretty much sold me, I just didn't want to have to ship my rifle off to Sig for who knows how long just to have a rail installed. It took about 15min for me to install.

Thanks Phin,I bought the Russian brides( i have 2 one in x39 the other 556,pic of 556 enclosed)) because I had always wanted an AK and found the sporter Saigas so cheap that I figured it would be a fun project and it was.I have been shopping for the Sig 556R though.Love that rifle and know it will be better in the accuracy field. The Saigas , having one of the better stamped rec'vrs isnt too bad on accuracy, but if it were milled as in some AK variants, it would be a bit more accurate.Havent tried to see if I could get any further distances out of the x39 round, all of it has been 100yrds.I have heard of guys w/556R's ring'n steel @ 500 yrds all day, that sounds great, I had figured@,500 yrds with Saiga it would be high hopes and 200 yrds for the Saiga would be its limit.........Congrats on the purchase of that fine rifle, let me know down the road what you do with it as far as your distances and accuracy. The Sig 556R is my next rifle and hope to be able to come back and give a report.Might be a while only because of buying hurricane shutters, that time of year coming here to south FL.

I went to shoot today and I didn't have as much luck as you guys. Sighted it in at 25 and 50, it did fine. Then at a 100 it was high and to the left. About 10 inches high with the elevation was set as low as it would go. The left and right I could adjust but like I said @ 100yards 10 inches high with elevation setting all the way down. I put the dot at the bottom of the target and I was barely hitting paper at the top left of the target. We put the scope on another rifle and it did the same thing. When I got the scope one of the metal tabs on the battery cap was broke which at the time I didn't think it was a big deal but now I wonder if it got dropped or damaged some how. I'm going to call hi lux tomorrow and see what can be done. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? Also let someone else shoot just to make sure it wasn't me and they had the same results. This suxsux

I didn't have those issues at all.

I got my middle school metric tape out and pulled the 36 (can't remember exactly) meters and zeroed. I then pulled 100yds and 100 meters.

I shot both. The 200 meter dot was middle of the 8 ring high at 100yds, and the 100 meter "V" was just under the 9. That's pretty dog gone close.

After thoroughly reading the owners Manuel(which I should have done the first time) I think I have found what I was doing wrong. On the elevation turret and windage turret there are the two screws that you are clearly told to loosen. I did not loosen. The Manuel says to zero in with these screws lose then tighten once zeroed. After they are tightened you can use the turrets for fine tuning your moa but you can always go back to your original zeroed settings by turning the turret to the zero mark. I was managing to get a few clicks with the screws tight but not nearly enough to properly zero the scope. That's why I thought my elevation was set as far down as it would go because I was seeing the zero mark on the turret and I could not get it to turn any more. Anyway I plan on trying again next weekend. I had every intention of quickly zeroing in my rifle then killing some pigs but it turned into a long ordeal. The only thing I killed today were two ticks I found on me when I got home. LOL.

that's correct
now you got it
once you've loosened the 2 screws on each turret...hold the lower turret in place at zero and zero your rifle by adjusting the upper turret only.
At 4x at 32 meters which will in turn set all your BDC reticles.
its actually a very ingenious system once you figure it out
