Anyone tried this?

Is it lipstick on a pig?

Thanks,

I have an Arsenal SGL-21 AK-47 and a Sig 556R. Both are of the AK variety and both are very reliable and great to shoot, but the Sig 556R is more accurate and I like it because of the accuracy issues. The only issue I have with the 556R is finding mags that will work with it. For instance, US Palm 30s don't fit and some Circle tens don't fit either and these are two of the best. Magpul is coming out with an AK mag that is suppose to fit. Good luck on what ever you decide.

Nice !! I wish I could afford to get one ,as of right now I cant. If you dont mind, any one that has a Sig 556R,at 100 yrds what were your groups? Any sub MOA with the gun and good ammo? I have a Saiga and would love to grab a Sig shortly. The converted Saiga will shoot from a bench with PPU FMJ 124 GR. 1.5" 3 shot group @100 yrds. That's warmed up, figuring I want to really know what it will do with some time under fire. The Saiga is not a pretty gun certainly not a Sig 556R, but a reliable firearm, I will say, its no where near as accurate w/ steel cased ammo, but still even there 2-3" group, not horrible. If you can advise on what you experienced with the 556R,I would appreciate it.:thanks:

I have no doubt that, out of the rain, higher mag scope, and some trigger time that this rifle is an inch shooter.

Does it need to be in this caliber, and is that significantly different than what yours will do? Probably no.

FYI
I dialed my scope in yesterday at the house out to 32 meters as per the directions.
the windage and elevation turrets have an upper and lower half to them which have small o rings under the upper turrets that both tore while I was setting my zero.
don't worry about these
i continued shooting out to 60 meters before it got dark
I just spoke to leatherwood about the o rings
these o rings really serve no purpose and i guess they aren't even putting them on anymore.
they were originally installed to help the upper part of the turret move freely while your zeroing but they aren't necessary as once you've zeroed your scope they are tightened back down and never have to move again anyways.

im more of a handgunner so im not a good shot with a new rifle and scope but heres a pic at 60 meters with steel cased ammo
its a 1 3/4" group with 5 in the 10 ring
the lowest one in the 10 ring is actually 2
im a work in progress:p
the 556r was flawless...me?not so much...

Just got mine today. I got the red dot instead of green. When I went to install the battery I found one of the metal taps on the battery cap had broke off. Its not that big of a deal but after spending 400+ on a scope I want everything right. I called the company and they were very helpful. Said they would have a new part in the mail tomorrow. Other than that minor issue the scope is badass. I like the quick range finding bars to the side of the red dot. I went with the red so that it would not affect night vision. I haven't shot it yet but plan on zeroing it in this weekend.

I am going to shoot mine tomorrow, and I will post it.

As for red light, night vision is complicated and often over simplified in the use of red light. It isn't my specialty though, as I am more into kinematics, including the extremely fast variety. I know some optics people that get picky over the subject, especially with a beer.

For me, I get picky over the great lie of Newton and F=ma and the erroneous use of "centrifugal force", but hey, I am nerd.
