I was in the market for a 716 but after talking to a couple of boatguys that were still having issues with their 716s. I went with a Christensen arms DMR instead. (I've had zero issues with it)

Life is too short to spend shipping your firearms back to the manufacturer

From TheFirearmsBlog... "Dutch MARSOF officially purchase .300 BLK SIG MCX Rifles."

Do the Dutch know they'll have to wait in line behind all the barrel kit orders?

Dittos!! Thanks you Mr Steve!!

We don't know many submariners, as they're a very small/select group. A retired sailor we do know that has his gold dolphins, served on the Dallas USS-700, and always has an interesting story for us.

One that pops into mind was while docked in LA, with several brass on deck for some special presentation. Meanwhile the boat was preparing to pump-off it's poop tank. Apparently, the dock valve was mistakenly left shut, and when the poop pumps were started the hose burst, showering everyone on deck with raw sewage!!

Yeah, all those dress whites weren't so white anymore. Also, everyone had to report for a gamma globulin booster shot - in the buttocks of course!!

Cheers

I sailed on top of the water. Fresh air, sunshine, big guns, and flying fish. The folks below us had my admiration. I don't know how they did it. To each their own, I suppose.

After buying a 556xi (no problems) and seeing the MCX moving in the same direction I looked at the ruger 556 takedown. So far it has proven everything he 556xi was supposed to be and perhaps the MCX.

As stated in my other thread.... Sig Sauer customer service is in the sewer, and firearm quality is right behind that.

They are taking advantage of, misleading and screwing over their customers for profit.

Sig Sauer Leadership is negligent and wholly absent.

I understand the frustration, but this isn't surprising to me. I don't think Sig was being dishonest with the MCX, just probably underestimated the demand and production times. It seems to be a good gun otherwise, kit delays aside. That has been an issue with every gun that promised conversion kits though, especially when they are in high demand. Even look at the p250, there was a time when conversion kits were in short supply. Look at the p220 10mm.

The 556xi was their most notorious failure in this regard. This was the only example where I thought Sig was a little dishonest, in that the 300blk kits never even went into production. I think they did offer MCXs in return for those customers though. Now from Sigs site it looks like the 556xi has finally been terminated.

Sad, since I think the 556 classic should have been the one they focused on and refined. It's a good gun.

The only thing I agree with is that we probably won't see a 300 BO conversion kit for the Sig MCX until at least Q4 of 2017. My guess is that we'll never see one that is readily available to the public.

300 BO Conversion

Gee, if SS never comes forth with a 300 BO conversion, what am I to do with the short keymod handguard that they already sold to me as part of an order of the 300 BO? Don't say it!
