Same here. Yay...............

Happy to see the new design's pinned Spring Plate & 'dogleg' bolt connection approach. Sounds great that SIG is updating our Giessele triggers too!!

Am wondering how we'll clean the bolt's internals & firing pin though...

EDIT: CS tells me that their drawing's 'Non-removable' firing pin retaining pin is misleading. It should be described as a 'retained' firing pin retaining pin, as we will be able to remove the bolt & firing pin. The firing pin's retaining pin will NOT come completely out... It's good!

Cheers

I didn't call them. I just did the registration form from the link that was in the email. Not much of a confirmation after I submitted the form. Just a "Thank you for registering your firearm" type message. Thats a little too vague. And my MCX was already registered before. Im going to give them a call just to make sure we are good to go.

I also....

I also had previously registered my mcx when learning of the need to reregister due to this recall.
Upon speaking to sig cs they assured me that the second request to register was merely to make sure they did not miss anyone with the recall efforts and a way to stay ahead of the game because this was a system or function within the website already in place and operating well.
the other choice was to obviously have a dedicated page and registration just for the recall efforts and would have delayed the initiation of the process somewhat.I personally would not be surprised to see such a thing in whole or part but at least were moving along and not in limbo awaiting the appropriate web development to take place.

Also as per CS Giessele is currently working on a modified SSA to accommodate the new bolt carrier group and the swap will be made as soon as they are available through SIG themselves.Additionally I was told that no retail sales of the trigger necessary would take place until all known recall firearms were supplied fully.
As for Giesseles website not offering a MCX model SSA trigger,I dont believe there ever was one as when I contacted Giessele directly previously to purchasing mine for my MCX, they had informed me that the current(at that time)SSA trigger group had not been tested with the MCX and I could order one and return it without RS fee if it failed to work with the MCX.
Hopes this helps. And no one at sig made me aware of the need to return the entire rifle but only return the BCG in the box provided.I guess I will wait to see what size box I receive and go from there.

CS confirmed that SIG will update all their shipped MCX rifles to get everyone on the same hardware - before they begin shipping our pre-ordered 300Blk kits. No timeline is currently available as they're not sure how long these upgrades will take...

Cheers

On hold for 20 min. They want me to send in the entire rifle. They are also requesting my tax stamp for the SBR. Interesting that they are going to change to the updated trigger. my Geissele trigger is new. I hope they don't swap it out and keep the old one. I hope they swap triggers and let me keep the old one. Id rather sell it than give it up.

I just spoke with them on the phone because the confirmation I received from the online warranty registration wasn't clear and way to vague for my tastes. They got everything they needed from me from the registration. I will be shipped a box with a box within 72 hours. I asked why I had to register again even though they have all my info since thats how they contacted me in the 1st place. They just want to be sure that they have all the latest contact information for each customer. She also asked if I have an aftermarket trigger. I do not. Easy peasy.

I'm curious how this will affect the MCX AR conversion kits and using them on a standard AR lower as they originally advertised. Will those people need to send in their lowers as well to have trigger work done?

I ordered the 9" 300BLK upper kit (last April) and was planning to use it on my 516 lower (ATF approved SBR lower). I currently have the SSA-E trigger in that lower.

I asked about this because I"m doing the same thing. I have an SBR Lower and waiting for my 300blk 9in AR kit.

The CS rep said there should be no issues with those kits by the time they ship and they will work with any mil-spec trigger. I didn't push him, but the question is ... if the upper is mil-spec why wouldn't it work on any mil-spec trigger.

It could be a legal issue. Triggers are one of those things companies are touch about. I've had friends send pistols (from other companies) in for service and they come back with the stock trigger installed and person's custom trigger. Legally they could only send the firearm back with a factory trigger.

just my 2-cents

I just got off the phone with CS. They were very helpful. I have to send back my entire rifle too. They confirmed that they will send my current Timney two-stage trigger back to me. It is a pain in the butt. If this is the most I have to complain about this holiday season (not including politics), I would say its not bad at all.

They also confirmed the new trigger will be Geissele specific to the MCX.

Super Semi-Automatic (SSA®) Trigger
Type: 2 Stage
1st Stage Weight: 2.5lbs.
2nd Stage Weight: 2.0lbs.
Total Pull Weight: 4.5lbs.
Adjustable: No
Pin Size: Mil-Spec

I emailed Geissele about this recall to see if the trigger parts coming from Sig are actually from the new Geissele MCX trigger and if they will work with my current SSA-E... this is the response I got:

"Thank you for contacting us. We have just recently heard of this recall and we are still working out all of the details. Right now, we cannot confirm this information. Once we get more information about this issue, we will let everyone know. I hope this helps."

Not giving me a great feeling about this recall and how soon I will see my gun again or if my current trigger will still work the same.

I wouldn't worry about it. Vendors work under agreements (non-disclosure) not to discuss relationship details with companies they supply. Legally if they they talked about what they worked with Sig on, they could be in breach of contract and loose a big contract. At the worse there could large financial impacts.

Good luck trying to get through. First multiple attempts with just a busy signal. When finally got past busy signal now at 30 minutes on hold and counting.

You would think they would increase operators or better yet offer email link to engage the return process.

All that happens with the link provided is the same registration link I filled out when I first purchased.

Pretty poor customer service!

I see the new spring plate will be pinned.

Perhaps a reaction to nutnfancy's failure on youtube? The one where folks think he didn't install the springs correctly?

Jeez. I've got a Geisselle SSA installed so will probably have to send in the whole rifle (300 blackout, 16" barrel by the way).

Seriously considering trading this thing in for a DD or LWRC.

Finally got through to CS

I was told:

1) all mcx involved below the number in the email; the specific serial numbers listed in the email need additional attention.

2) click on the link provided and register even if you already registered which is probably why they sent you the email

3) even though it is not clear from the immediate response you receive from "re-registering" this will purportedly generate a return authorization and box to be sent to your address. The CS rep stated to expect followup email in 48 hours or so. That is certainly not apparent from the "thank you for registering" response you initially receive.

4) I guess we sit tight for a few days and see.
